25.01.2022 Last night at around 1900 our team was activated to a tree down on the Upper Turon Road on a blind corner. A crew of five took two trucks and enroute to the job they came across a branch down partially blocking the road. The team quickly went about cutting up and removing the debris from the road. They continued on to the original tree down and safely cut up and cleared the road. Both jobs required risk assessment and management for potential traffic. Well done team Sofala

23.01.2022 This afternoon at 1324 our busy and dedicated CFR crew were activated to a MVA motorbike vs car. The location was stated as on the Sofala Ilford Road between Sofala and Ilford. However it was actually located on Wiagdon Hill, Sofala Rd between Bathurst and Sofala. Giving correct and accurate location details to the 000 call takers is vitally important. Thankfully those involved were not injured and did not transport to hospital. Down the EMERGENCY PLUS APP and you will be able to give accurate location details

21.01.2022 This morning our unit was activated to a storm related job. A residence in Wattle Flat had their aerial blown over on the roof leaving small holes. 18.01.2022 Yesterday the Sofala unit was activated to assist some people to evacuate from a camping area along the Bridal Track as the river had come up and was no longer passable. Our plan A was to have #NSWSESBathurstUnit assist with their boat and boat operators, So we activated the Bathurst Unit and they made their way to Hill End. Our Plan B was to try and find a 4WD track to drive the POI out, so a team of two Sofala members took one 4WD down Box Ridge Rd in an attempt to find th...ese people on their side of the river. The Sofala unit had to get a property owner's permission to drive through private property but was successful in finding a suitable route out. The trapped campers were able to drive out safely. This is an important lesson for campers check the weather before camping and if you cross a river and it starts to rain get out early rather than later #thanksBATHURSTSES See more
