20.01.2022 Here is a story from one of our e-sports players from the tournament we ran that is sure to warm the heart. Thank you Peta for sharing _____________________________ Nate loves his baseball and when COVID hit he was devastated that he could not play his season. The opportunity from BNSW to play the e- tournament was undertaken with vigour as it was the only way in which he could continue playing ball. It is a credit to BNSW that they found a solution to the problem that so m...any enthusiasts faced in lockdown. The game vs Todd Van Steensel was a nail biter and without a doubt the game of the tournament. Games usually lasted 20 minutes but this game was fought for an hour and went to the 10th inning having tied most of the game, where Nate scored two home runs to take the lead. When Nate realised who he had versed he was over the moon, and to re-watch the match on Todd’s Twitch account reliving his win put a smile so big on his face it went from ear to ear. Most of the kids who play ball watch the top players of the game on TV or from a seat in a stand, they rarely get to meet or play against one they hold in their heart as a star. Nate was fortunate enough to play of Australia’s stars and that is a memory he will treasure and be inspired from forever. A huge thanks to Todd for the game, the memories and the inspiration. 06.01.2022 Baseball NSW are now taking registrations for the 2021 Women's Development Program. The program will focus on the fundamentals of baseball, progressing to more advanced drills throughout the 8 weeks. The development program is open to female players aged League Age 13 and above. Girls who are League Age 12 from the 2020/2021 Season may be considered after a trial process to ensure the minimum skill level is attained for the safety of the participants. Venue 1 (Southern)... Hammondville Oval, 230 Heathcote Road, Hammondville. Tuesday and Thursday nights - 6:30pm to 8:30pm Venue 2 (Northern) to be confirmed subject to numbers Greenway Park, Shepherds Drive, Cherrybrook. Wednesday and Friday nights - 7:00pm - 9:00pm. Should there be sufficient numbers, Baseball NSW will run both venues subject to minimum registration numbers being achieved. 02.01.2022 Game 4 in the eSports State of Origin was a high scoring and gripping encounter between Harrison Dobb of New South Wales and Travis Schreier of South Australia. Having fallen behind early, Travis scored five runs in the 5th inning, including a 4-run homer. Travis went on to hit a home run in the bottom of the 9th inning to win the game and level the 5 game series at 2-2 going into the series decider. 01.01.2022 Game 5, the decider in the eSports State of Origin saw Matt Gorman of New South Wales take on Nathan Schreier of South Australia, the best in each State going head-to-head to claim the bragging rights for their State.
