25.01.2022 Families Week - Let's support the Natural Family FamilyVoice Australia welcomes National Families Week 2021 - Australia’s annual celebration of the importance of families which is supported by the Australian Government Department of Social Services. National Families Week will be held between 15 - 21 May 2021 (coinciding with the United Nations International Day of Families on 15 May)... The aim of National Families Week is to celebrate the vital role that families play in Australian society. The enduring theme 'Stronger families, stronger communities' highlights the important role that families play as the central building block of our communities and that community wellbeing is enhanced by family wellbeing. The natural family is under assault these days. Watch a primetime television program about the family and you'll soon discover that fathers are presented as idiotic, mothers as overbearing, and children as wise beyond their years. That's assuming you can find a program portraying a "natural" family with a husband and a wife. We acknowledge that single parents, married couples without children, grandparents rearing their grandchildren, and empty-nestersjust to mention a fewmake up a considerable percentage of "Christian" families. National Families Week is a time to celebrate with your family, make contact with your extended family and friends, and share in the enjoyment of family activities within the wider community. It is a time to celebrate the meaning of the ‘natural’ family and to make the most of family life at church and home. The challenges of the past year have underlined the fundamental importance of families to society, communities and to us as individuals. The natural family is the foundation of western civilisation which is constituted by marriage and is composed of persons related to one another by marriage, blood or adoption. During National Families Week, the family as the fundamental institution of human society, is a great time to reflect on and take action to further strengthen our natural Christian families.

23.01.2022 AUSTRALIANS PLEASE PAUSE FOR OUR FALLEN PERSONNEL I am encouraging all AUSTRALIANS to pause as a nation on Remembrance Day to remember the service and sacrifice of our fallen men and women who gave their lives in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. There but for the grace of God go I.... May I encourage Australians to observe one minute of silent reflection this Wednesday 11 November, at 11am in memory of the sacrifice of our current and former service personnel. Remembrance Day is one of the most significant days of our year. It is a day where Australians can remember those who have lost their lives during war, and stand beside our service personnel and veterans and say thank you for your service and sacrifice. For more than 100 years Australians have stopped on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in silent solidarity and it is during this time that we demonstrate that we will never forget them. Originally known as Armistice Day, this solemn day was established in 1919, the year after the First World War ended. It was only after the Second World War that 11 November became known as Remembrance Day as a reflection of the loss and sacrifice of both world wars. Just over 20 years after the First World War, Australia was again at war in a global conflict, the Second World War, where more than 39,000 Australians lost their lives. This Remembrance Day wear a red poppy in remembrance of our fallen. As a nation, we must remember them. Lest we forget. On Remembrance Day, we remember all those who have lost their lives in wars and conflicts, and the sacrifice our service personnel have made. This Remembrance Day Australians are encouraged to share their personal commemorations on social media by using the hashtag: #RemembranceDay

19.01.2022 What Is the Worst Sin in the World? What is the worst sin in the world? Is it murder, rape, child molestation? Here are some hints: 1. It is the original sin.... 2. It is the foundation of all other sins. 3. When you commit this sin, you usually don’t even know it. 4. Although it is the worst sin, you will virtually never hear a sermon or read a blog about it. 5. People who dislike it in others are usually the ones who commit it the most. 6. This worst sin carries a biblical promise that no one wants fulfilled. 7. The more successful you become, the more likely you are to fall to this sin. 8. The better you do at overcoming other sins, the more likely you are to have temptations with this one. 9. It is a sin everyone deals with their whole life and when they think they have it licked, that’s a sure sign they don’t! Well, have you guessed it by now? Yes, the worst sin in the world is pride. 16.01.2022 Well done. Actress Kirstie Alley has blasted new rules for films to be eligible for Oscars, saying: You people have lost your minds. This is social engineering, cultural marxism, propaganda or call it what you like but this is not the way of the future. Now I know why there is always a gay LGBTIQA+ scene in nearly every movie. I simply fast forward or change channels.https://www.foxnews.com//kirstie-alley-slams-oscars-divers
15.01.2022 The first Monday of Advent. The Letter to the Romans is fascinating: The footsteps of those who bring good news are a welcome sound (Romans 10). I like this image, for when we speak of prayer to God we are essentially focusing on our capacity to listen to God.... But also on the ‘footsteps’ of ‘intermediaries,’ otherwise known as ‘witnesses.’ Who are these witnesses? A prayer of gratitude is clearly in order. And a renewed intention to make time to listen: For not everyone, of course, listens to the Good News. Amen.

10.01.2022 Are You/Am I a Pharisee? Sometimes we take secret comfort in Jesus’ apparent harshness to the Pharisees. It can be nice to have a bad guy to compare ourselves favourably with! But Jesus is asking much more of us in today’s reading. Our human tendency is to judge ourselves by what we do: we plan significant heroic actions or commit ourselves to impressive sacrifices. For the Pharisees, this took the form of more and more complex washing rituals, which Jesus called them out o...n! What form does it take for us? Do we create rules for ourselves, which are unconsciously based on what makes us feel good about ourselves? For example, do we comfort ourselves that our prayer life is in good shape (which is very important!) but at the same time think poorly of those struggling to pray? Do we secretly feel comforted that we are holier than that other person? What Jesus was always interested in was the heart of a person. He was not harsh with the Pharisees because they were ‘bad guys’ but because they needed reminding to be open and vulnerable with God. It is faith, not the law, which justifies us; faith that God is who God says he is, and that he is passionately interested in loving us in our weakness and brokenness. Thank God for that!

09.01.2022 Does God Bless Nations? Well it seems the USA will have a new President. Will God bless America? And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonours you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed (Genesis 12:2-3). So, we are reminded that God does bless nations and indeed everyone knows that in the USA "God Bless America" i...Continue reading
