25.01.2022 The NSWGGA Annual 'Awards & Presentation Night'. SAVE THE DATE Friday 26th May ’17. We are proud and excited to announce this year’s event will be held at 'DOLTONE HOUSE', Darling Island South Wharf (in Pyrmont). This event has grown steadily over the first 4 years and with over 180 guests last year, we are expected to outgrow our previous venue, The Rydges Rose Hill. Right on the water, opposite Star Casino and with the Harbour Bridge and the bustling harbour visible fr...om this great venue, Doltone House certainly helps us take this event to the next level. We have planned a great mix of comedy & music to keep you entertained, as well as the critically important awards element of the evening. Combine this with sumptuous food and plenty of drinks throughout the night, we trust you will have a great time and a rewarding experience. In our industry, great things happen when good people come together, so get involved and get to know your fellow members. Make a weekend of it (or at least a big Friday night) by staying in town at one of the many nearby hotels. Regardless, make this a great night out for you, your partner and some worthy staff and colleagues. The Venue boasts the following : A spectacular waterfront venue on the foreshore of Sydney Harbour, with views of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and magical city skyline. Darling Island is the first six-star green-star rated building in NSW. The modern, stylish ground floor space incorporates main event / conference / exhibition area and inviting meeting rooms. With your support, this event will continue to be the pre-eminent event for our local industry. The perfect forum to get together and celebrate the people and businesses within this great industry. Keep an eye out for the booking form and information on sponsorship packages in future emails. We will also be in touch seeking entries to the prestigious ‘Best Use of Glass’ Awards presented on the night, so start thinking about your likely projects to enter. Don’t hesitate to make contact if you have any queries and we look forward to seeing you all there.

On the spot fines can now be issued to:... 1. employers not protecting their workers from the risk of falling from heights 2. workers who undertake work requiring a licence when they dont hold that licence or employers who allow their workers to do so. This includes high-risk work licences, such as forklifts, reach stackers, boom type elevated work platforms, and asbestos removal class A and B to name a few. These new on the spot fines can be issued by inspectors if the risk to workers is imminent or serious, or if the workplace is considered a repeat offender. Fines are $720 for an individual and $3,600 for a corporation. Read more below. #WHS #StaySafe
