20.01.2022 Our Australian Seasonal Bushfire Outlook: June August 2021 is out today, with a spotlight on the start of northern Australia’s bushfire season. While La Niña... has meant a wet six months for most of the country, longer-term climate drivers are now neutral, so the weather in the coming three months will be more heavily influenced by local drivers in each state or territory. The Northern Territory had a strong wet season, which is leading to significant vegetation growth, with above normal fire potential in parts of the Top End. The rest of Australia can expect normal bushfire potential for the time of year. Please only call triple zero (000) if a fire is developing & approaching your assets.

16.01.2022 Preparing the area around your home is one of the most important and valuable actions you can take to prepare for bush fire. #nswrfs #prepared #greatersydneyAC

16.01.2022 Your safest option is to leave early. A bush fire can be a terrifying situation, intense heat and flames will make you tire quickly, it will be difficult to see and breathe. You may become confused or disorientated. Powerlines and fallen trees can block roads and make driving dangerous. It’s always better to leave early, before the fire arrives.... Visit myfireplan.com.au and make a bush fire survival plan, it will help you make important decisions like when to leave or what you need to be prepared to stay.

16.01.2022 Summer Outlook from the BOM.

16.01.2022 The grass may be green right now but it only takes a couple of hot windy days for it to dry out and become an ignition for bushfires. Prepare your properties for possible bushfires. Keep grass short and clear around buildings and fence lines. Have a Bushfire Survival Plan

02.01.2022 Last night our brigade held our Christmas/ End of Black Summer Fires party. We were to have it at our station but in keeping with Covid-19 restrictions this couldn't happen. However the Glenorie RSL came to the rescue at very short notice so a huge THANK YOU to them for your excellent hospitality and for keeping us safe. Managed to surprise this guy though with a presentation to him for Life Membership to Maroota Brigade. ... Peter has been a member of our brigade for almost 30 years and has been our illustrious Captain since 2013. He has held many positions in the brigade, setting a great example for members to follow. He continues to help out at District Office level with training of new members. 2019/20 horrific bushfires would have been his greatest test of leadership, however he came through exhausted but unscathed and thank goodness he was at the helm. He is an admiral leader and role model and the true example of the values that represent the NSW Rural Fire Service. CONGRATULATIONS Peter Kazzi....from Maroota Brigade!
