25.01.2022 We like satisfied customers. Ernest has lived in Chillingham for 50 years and it was our absolute pleasure to clear a fallen tree from his water pipe that feeds from the Rous.

25.01.2022 What does Minor, Moderate or Major flooding mean in a Bureau of Meteorology Flood Watch or Warning? Have a look at his video or browse here http://www.bom.gov.au//knowled/about-warning-service.shtml

25.01.2022 Storm season is here again. Storms can clear heat and humidity and give the garden a refreshing drink, but they also bring with them the danger of flooding. Over summer and always, let's keep well away from flooded roads and causeways - remember, if it's flooded, forget it!

24.01.2022 WOW... Tweed Shire had a few severe storms in our patch with some damage to cars, skylights etc but on the whole we dodged a bullet on the large hail stones. Check out these pics from ABC Gold Coast....

24.01.2022 Three SES Murwillumbah members recently returned from deployment to QLD assisting QLD SES - Ipswich City State Emergency Service Unit and Goodna SES shed with the major hail damage emergency repairs mainly in the Springfield Lakes area. This short drone video shows NSW SES Ulladulla Unit members tarping a roof and gives you some idea of the extensive roof damage as the view zooms out.

23.01.2022 "You don't want to go through a whole damaging sort of situation like this and find out that in the end, things are even worse than they were before." It's coming up to 4 years since the 2017 floods in the Tweed. Have you learnt anything from them? What would you do differently now? Are you better prepared (educated) for floods? What's your ONE lesson learnt about Tweed floods? Put it the comments below...and let's learn together.

22.01.2022 Cancellation Severe Thunderstorm Warning For people in Northern Rivers Forecast District. Issued at 3:30 am Wednesday, 12 May 2021.

21.01.2022 A special message to all Mums Being a mother is a special gift that most women are lucky to experience. NSW SES would like to wish all our mums and those who are no longer with us a heartfelt Happy Mother’s Day.

21.01.2022 A busy day yesterday for NSW SES Murwillumbah Unit. We were involved with providing flood support to a pregnant woman whose road access was cut by several flooded causeways across Bilambil Creek in the Urliup area. Fortunately with the fantastic assistance of locals we were able to access the woman via an alternative route using our 4WD and the woman and her partner was able to follow the SES in their own 4WD to reach safe road access to relatives and medical care if required. Thanks also to Tweed District Rescue Squad - NSW Volunteer Rescue Association for their support. Best wishes with the birth!

20.01.2022 Thanks to all the SES Volunteers and other emergency service personnel (NSW SES, NSW SES Lake Macquarie Unit, Tweed District Rescue Squad - NSW Volunteer Rescue Association, NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW Ambulance , Tweed Shire Council and NSW Police Force) who have been out and about this week in Northern NSW and our little slice of heaven. SES Murwillumbah managed over the past week to squeeze in 104 jobs including; 16 flood rescues, 2 evacuations, 3 food resupplies, a couple of medical assists and a whole bunch of storm related jobs (leaking roofs, sandbags, water diversion, trees down). While it was fun(?!) let's not meet anytime soon and do this all over again! (Photo is from a roof overlooking the flooded cane fields at Eviron)

20.01.2022 High speed action on the Tweed River. NSW SES Murwillumbah Unit and NSW SES Tweed Heads had three boats on the Tweed River supporting the Tweed River Water Ski Club's Nev Wilson Memorial Ski Race. Thank you to all the recreational boaters for your patience and consideration at Condong, Tumbulgum and Fingal. These guys were going fast...

17.01.2022 Another busy afternoon and night for us with more hail damaged skylights. This time we headed south to assist the SES Mullumbimby crew with multiple smashed skylights and some damaged tiles in Goonengerry. Cars had large dents in their body work and some with smashed windscreens. Driving there some sections of the road were carpeted with "green confetti" from the leaves stripped from trees from the intense hail. Spectacular night views under a full moon of Byron Bay from some places. Flashtac, gaffer tape and black plastic were the go to repair solutions for the damaged skylights...one resident had umbrellas poked through their smashed skylights and opened on the roof to prevent rain coming through the open skylight! Amazing hospitality from the people there and real community spirit with neighbours looking after neighbours.
