18.01.2022 Last week the Wingecarribee SES had an unusual request, for a Koala from a tree. Yes, normally koalas belong in a tree but this one had unfortunately sustained a broken leg, most likely from being run over. After the rescue was completed, the koala was sent to Sydney University where the Kangaloon Koala received treatment for the broken leg. A great job was done by the rescue team in the efforts made to ensure that the koala was retrieved and put in the hands of WIRES. If you come across injured wildlife, please contact 1300 WIRES (1300 094 737).
