25.01.2022 Ben is currently undertaking a carpentry course at Tafe and is being supported by Janine. Both are learning the skills of precise measurement, accurate cutting, safe use of tools and innovative design. We are looking forward to seeing your finished projects. #ladytradie

24.01.2022 SASS Shoutout Verona School has a Cherie and that makes us the luckiest school around. Cherie our SLSO extraordinaire does it all - the cooking program, quick smart, Aboriginal Education, the school gardens and most importantly is our overall mother hen! Cherie has seen it all and still loves our students and staff like only a mother could. Thank you Cherie for all that you do.

22.01.2022 Class Florey began their technology and robotics elective by using colour codes to make an Ozobot complete special actions as it traveled along a drawn path. Here are some examples of their work.

22.01.2022 SASS SHOUT OUT!! What do you get when you cross young, compassionate football players with a dynamic school environment? You get the perfect combination to create amazing SLSOs. Logen and Ray - Raygen have added so much to our team at Verona. Popular with the students (except when they are beating them in sport!), well loved by the staff, these young men strive to do their best for our kids everyday. Thank you for all that you do Logen and Ray.

21.01.2022 Today is Primary Principals Day and as our school caters for upper primary we have permission to say a big THANK YOU to our principal Carla Scott! Carla, you have only recently joined our team but we are so thankful for your support and knowledge in helping us navigate what has been a turbulent year. You have made our Verona family stronger and more motivated to do the best for our students and the community. From all of us at Verona THANK YOU for being such an outstanding and understanding leader!

21.01.2022 Connie and Russell from Koomurri Aboriginal Education incursions engaged, entertained and excited the Verona School community today with stories, boomerang throwing, didgeridoo playing, face painting, song, dance and the creation of a beautiful art work that will hang proudly in our school. Well done to all students for their respect and participation.

18.01.2022 Class Mabo created a very successful business in Term 2 called Mabo Wicks. The students conducted market research about candles - the fragrances customers wanted to buy, how much customers were willing to pay, how big customers wanted their candles to be. They investigated the financial involvements of setting up a small business including an understanding of profit and loss. The students then researched methods of production and learnt how to make candles and set to work under the watchful eye of factory manager Bailey. 16.01.2022 Barista training for students to be able to participate in coffee club. The students learnt how to make various coffees’, the protocol around coffee hygiene and latte art

16.01.2022 Semester 1 school reports will be available to collect from the office by parents and carers on Wednesday, any reports not collected will be sent by post on Thursday. Parent Teacher interviews will be held in week 2 where we invite you to come and discuss your childs learning and report with their teacher. Please note students will not be given reports to take home.

09.01.2022 Fri-yay! Today is the students day to celebrate our R U OK day week. We will be enjoying a yummy healthy lunch and doing some team building activities for our school sport. Looking forward to the students versing the staff

08.01.2022 It was with great pleasure that Verona School was able to support Ms Prasad to complete her teacher accreditation - proficiency and present her with her certificate on Friday. Ms Prasad is an incredibly kind, thoughtful and hardworking teacher. Her lessons are prepared with a great deal of care and consideration for her students needs. Ms Prasad is an absolute asset to have on staff at Verona School, our students are very lucky to be supported by such a dedicated teacher. Please join with us in congratulating Ms Prasad!

06.01.2022 SASS SHOUTOUT Every school needs a Soula. The first face you see when you arrive at Verona is our Soula. Her warmth and kindness radiates putting staff, students and parents at ease as they walk through our office doors. Soula started as an SLSO at Verona before moving to the office - she still tries to sneak in a classroom moment or two when she can! I am so grateful for the way Soula cares for and looks after everyone. Thank you Soula for all that you do!

06.01.2022 Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No its Floreys new classroom!! An impressive site at Verona School this morning with our new demountable flying high over the fences. Mr Schaefer, Janine and Class Florey will be moving in first day of term.

04.01.2022 SASS SHOUTOUT Jamel is our wonderful school administration manger. She started working at Verona as an SLSO and decided she could never leave. Firm, fair and fierce, Jamel is the most loyal and supportive office manager I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Jamels hard work, willingness to go above and beyond and genuine empathy for our parents and students make her very special part of our team. Thank you for all that you do!

04.01.2022 SASS SHOUT OUT Calm and cool like a cucumber is out beautifully thoughtful Mel. Full of compassion and empathy Mel is an absolute asset to Verona School. Strength in adversity, Mel doesnt hide her health struggles, rather she uses it as a tool to promote wellness and self care. Our students love her for her fun loving nature, honesty and are fiercely protective of her. We all love her humor and hope not to be the next victim of one of her pranks!
