22.01.2022 Baseball NSW is proud to announce that High-Performance Manager, and Head of Baseball Operations, Jason Pospishil, will be taking on the role of Director of Bas...eball Operations with the Sydney Blue Sox. While this means Jason will be leaving Baseball NSW at the end of the month, we are excited to see Jason pursue his ambitions with the Australian Baseball League and go on to achieve great things in his next role. Jason has been an integral part of baseball in NSW for over 20 years, having played and coached at all levels while being employed with our state body for nearly six years. Fortunately for us, Jason will continue his involvement with our State development programs which have seen many young talented players progress through the State and National ranks under his tutorage. Furthermore, the addition of Jason to the Blue Sox management team will provide greater collaboration and partnership between the two organizations, which will most certainly benefit our respective members. Additionally, Baseball NSW is excited to announce that we are not left without capable staffing. Grahame Cassel (Baseball Australia Hall of Fame Member & 20+ year ABL/Claxton Shield veteran) will take over the High-Performance role within Baseball NSW for the interim period. Grahame has been in a supporting role to Jason throughout his entire tenure and is more than capable of taking over our programs. So while we will certainly miss having Jason’s expertise at Baseball NSW, we want to wish him the best for this new chapter in his professional career and want to thank him for his enormous contribution to Baseball NSW. 17.01.2022 Baseball NSW has organized a scorers training course on the 5th of November at 7pm via Zoom. It will be a tee-ball and beginner live pitch course for beginners ...and for scorers wanting to upgrade their knowledge. This course will not be for stats or more complicated scoring. Participants may register for the meeting by clicking on the link below and completing the registration form. 17.01.2022 Baseball NSW are now taking registrations for the 2021 Women's Development Program. The program will focus on the fundamentals of baseball, progressing to more ...advanced drills throughout the 8 weeks. The development program is open to female players aged League Age 13 and above. Girls who are League Age 12 from the 2020/2021 Season may be considered after a trial process to ensure the minimum skill level is attained for the safety of the participants. Venue 1 (Southern) Hammondville Oval, 230 Heathcote Road, Hammondville. Tuesday and Thursday nights - 6:30pm to 8:30pm Venue 2 (Northern) to be confirmed subject to numbers Greenway Park, Shepherds Drive, Cherrybrook. Wednesday and Friday nights - 7:00pm - 9:00pm. Should there be sufficient numbers, Baseball NSW will run both venues subject to minimum registration numbers being achieved. The program will commence Tuesday, July 13 and concluding on Friday, September 3, 2021. 10.01.2022 Baseball NSW are calling upon players to trial for the NSW Opens Women's Metro State Team to compete in the Australian Women's Championships scheduled for April... 2-9, 2021 at West Beach Baseball Complex, Adelaide. To be eligible to trial and be eligible for selection, players must be 15 years of age before the commencement of the tournament. Information about the Country State Team trials will be announced once dates have been finalized. Registrations close on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
