19.01.2022 Did you see the write up on our Yarpa Grow graduates in the Sydney Morning Herald? Fiona Harrison hit the trifecta when she pitched her new Indigenous owned company that blends top quality Belgian chocolate with bush tucker to corporate buyers. Ms Harrison’s Chocolate On Purpose was on Thursday among 15 businesses to graduate - the first groups so far - from a 10- week business incubator for Indigenous companies looking to scale up. ... Creating more Indigenous businesses was "the missing piece in the puzzle", said Yuseph Deen from the NSW Aboriginal Land Council. Mr Deen had been so excited about the graduation that he travelled to Sydney from Queensland (where he'd been in lockdown), aware that he may not be able to return. "We fought for 200 years to gain respectability and also to gain some control back over our lives," he said. Glen Brennan, Indigenous business service leader with KPMG Australia said these businesses provided role models for the next generation. "You can only be what you can see. It takes us away from stereotypes and gives proof points that young Indigenous people can aspire [to]." Sydney Morning Herald https://lnkd.in/gKyT63T

18.01.2022 Across this nation, there are hundreds of tribes and clans, they’ve existed here for over 60,000 years. Our people are the oldest living culture of the world.
