09.01.2022 We're importing Copperworks Distilling American Single Malts into Australia! This little distillery from my hometown of Seattle, Washington produce some amazing whiskies. Release 031: created by combining six casks of whiskey distilled from their Five Malt recipe (similar to a Scotch Ale style beer) with one cask of whiskey distilled from a Single Variety Malt called "Full Pint" that was grown and malted in Washington State's Skagit Valley. Adding the cask of Full Pint gives ...this release a distinctive depth of fruit flavors. Aged for at least 32 months in charred, new American Oak. Tasting Notes: Nose: aromas of browned butter, orange cream, grapefruit peel, ripe blackberry and spice. Palate: Flavors of honeydew, cut hay, Thai basil, and melon rind Finish: blackberry, tomato vine, fruit, and a slight, sweet brininess. Release 033: A single cask sherry-matured whiskey, they filled 45 gallons of new make whiskey into the sherry cask. They then added 85 gallons of their Pale Malt recipe that had been aged for more than two years in a cognac cask. Those two whiskeys then matured together for 30 months in Cask #274, a fino sherry cask. Tasting Notes: Nose: aromas of almond, fruitcake, rum raisins, and a whiff of linseed oil. Palate: the initial flavors of fig conserves, browned butter, and apple skin Finish: tobacco, citrus rind, balsamic vinegar, and tomato vine. Release 034: Copperworks’ first release of Peated Single Malt was crafted from eight casks of whiskey that were brewed and distilled from 100% of the Copeland variety of barley grown in Washington’s Skagit Valley and smoked during the malting process with Washington peat. Matured for just over four years in lightly charred new American Oak casks. Tasting Notes: Nose: aromas of campfire, roasted tomatoes, and exotic spices. Palate: flavor notes of roasted almonds, toast, orange zest, pine resin. Finish: hickory, cedar, wet earth, pleasant briny and wood notes. Plus a very special single cask bottled just for Australia! Due to land in June and sure to sell out quick. #NTDSpirits #CopperworksDistilling #AmericanSingleMalt #Seattle #Perth #SupportSmallBusiness #Whiskey
