Two people have been taken to hospital with what are believed to be serious but not life threatening injuries.... Power lines have been dislodged as a result of the crash and Power and Water are working to make the area safe. Our friends at Bushfires NT advise: A large floodplain fire is burning on a station to the east of Darwin. The fire is producing large amounts of smoke, which is impacting the Darwin CBD and the Darwin Rural areas. 16.01.2022 Police recruits Jake and Rhys were doing driver training at East Point when they came across an injured dog, and - always ready to help - took the doggo into custody. After being subjected to numerous pat downs and belly rubs, the pupper was safely delivered to the local vet for treatment and to track down its people. 13.01.2022 Northern Territory Police have issued summonses to two people in relation to an incident at a cattle station in the Victoria River District last month. The station management reported that 30 of their horses had been shot and killed on 19 September 2020. A 38-year-old man and a 40-year-old man, both from Darwin, have each received a summons to attend Katherine Local Court on 9 November for property offences and animal cruelty offences under the Animal Welfare Act.

10.01.2022 Police are calling for anyone with information regarding a structure fire on McMinn St last Friday to come forward. Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Malogorski said, Around 2:30pm on Friday 6 November, police and fire services were called to a structure fire on the corner of McMinn St and Gardiner St in the Darwin CBD. The derelict house had been abandoned for some years, but it is understood was sometimes frequented by squatters. It was not occupied at the time of the fire. ...The building was fully engulfed by flames and neighbouring buildings were evacuated as a precaution. No injuries were reported. Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area around 2pm on Friday afternoon who may have seen any suspicious activity. 03.01.2022 CALL FOR WITNESSES - THE NARROWS NT Police attended an incident on the Stuart Highway at The Narrows shortly before 2pm on Friday 16 October. A pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. The driver stopped to render assistance when an altercation has occurred. The driver has then driven to a nearby location where he contacted police.... The pedestrian and another person that approached the driver were taken to Royal Darwin Hospital by St John Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle was seized for further forensic examination with traffic temporarily being disrupted in the area. Investigations are continuing into the circumstances.
