22.01.2022 Fantastic developments on two fronts from GE in small reactors. These have very near term applications in Australia, especially the BWRX 300. The sodium cooled reactors can produce huge amounts of "green" hydrogen and consume the used fuel from existing nuclear power plants. The future of a low carbon nuclear future for Australia draws closer and Nuclear For Climate Australia is looking at where they could be built - stay tuned. https://www.powermag.com/ge-hitachi-terrapower-team-on-nuc/

17.01.2022 Ontario is showing where we need to go in Australia. The BWRX 300 can drastically reduce our carbon emissions and will provide low cost electricity at a fraction of the cost of AEMO's Integrated System Plan.

15.01.2022 Great news for emissions reductions, economic sanity and sticking it to the LNG industry. South Korea's 9 nuclear plants restarting Sep-Oct to pressure LNG demand. https://www.spglobal.com//090220-s-koreas-9-nuclear-plants

15.01.2022 The $32 billion renewables plan for NSW announced by Energy Minister Matt Kean would, if implemented, consign our state to high power prices with only a modest reduction in carbon emissions. If directed to nuclear energy it would fully decarbonise the NSW grid and provide low cost, reliable energy 24/7. The NSW Energy and Environment Minister is proposing to: Assist the private sector in developing 12 gigawatts (GW) of VRE (variable renewable energy) and 2 GW of pumped storag...e. Provide out of market assistance to VRE in the form of floor prices on energy, land leasing assistance, power purchase guarantees and subsidies to pumped storage projects. Facilitate the delivery of 12 Gigawatts of VRE and 2 GW of pumped storage. See more

14.01.2022 'Cheaper and safer than wind or solar': Dutch to consult on new nuclear power plants Study for economics ministry by consultancy founded by former International Atomic Energy Agency experts makes case for joining existing EU states' build-out plans https://www.rechargenews.com//cheaper-and-safer/2-1-880143

11.01.2022 The lessons from California's experience have strong synergies in NSW and Victoria. We get very deep wind droughts in summer and our future must include reliable, cost effective, low carbon dispatchable options such as nuclear energy.

09.01.2022 I will be forever grateful to Robert Parker for discussing the BWRX-300 on Australian radio. First mention of the BWRX-300 at 10:30, but every second is well worth your time. Please do listen and let Robert know what you think:

07.01.2022 Nuclear Energy Podcast Low cost and a proven low emissions Posted at 10:21h in Latest News by Rob Parker 0 Comments Nuclear Energy Podcast with 2GB’s Luke Grant on Australia Overnight For the same money nuclear energy can deliver power prices at half those of NSW Energy Minister’s $32 Billion renewable energy scheme.... The renewable energy scheme would deliver only mediocre emissions reductions at about half our existing levels or about 400gr CO2/kWh. For the same money, a fleet of 25 small nuclear power plants using our existing grid would get emissions down below 50 gr CO2/kwh or around 10 times better than renewables. Similar outcomes would occur in most other Australian states. On this podcast Rob Parker speaks with 2GB’s Luke Grant on Australia Overnight about such a nuclear energy scheme and how our entire state could benefit https://nuclearforclimate.com.au//nuclear-energy-podcast-/

06.01.2022 I'd like to thank Wingecarribee Shire Council for accepting a briefing on nuclear energy for our clean energy future. Great they have an open and inquiring attitude.
