20.01.2022 SINTAGI SUNDAYS Introducing Sintagi Sunday’ a new weekly post brought to you by the NUGAS Committee families. We will be sharing secret recipes straight from the Xorio. This week our general committee member Vanessa Baltos is sharing her Yiayia Vaia’s Batzina recipe!... Ingredients: 2 zucchini’s 1.5 cups of water Salt and pepper 1/4 feta 1 yoghurt 4 tbs olive oil Butter 2 cups Flour Method: 1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees. 2. In a large bowl, add grated zucchini, water, crumbled feta, yoghurt and olive oil. 3. Then Add salt and pepper and mix ingredients all together. 4. Slowly start adding flour while mixing until all ingredients are combined and mixture is not too runny. 5. Then grease a large tray or two small trays with butter and poor in enough mixture to cover the bottom of the tray as we want the pita to come out thin. 6. Add a few drops of butter over the mixture so that the pita comes out soft and crunchy and bake for about 40 minutes depending on your oven. 7. Let cool for 5 minutes, cut it into pieces and serve. 8. !!!

Georgia is currently completing her Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Health Sciences at La Trobe University Her Greek heritage is from Argos, Peloponnese. ... A message from our Treasurer: I joined NUGAS to further immerse myself in the Greek culture and to be part of a community that is passionate about maintaining our Greek identity. After being involved with the La Trobe University Greek Society for several years, I also wanted to assist in organising upcoming events held by NUGAS and ensure that all affiliated clubs remain connected through celebrating and preserving our traditions. We would like to extend our thanks to Modern Greek at La Trobe instructors Dr. Stephie Nikoloudis and Dr. Dimitri Gonis for their guidance and students Megan Smith, Anthea Banousis, Kion Sapountzis, and Konnor Terzakis for sharing their experiences....
