15.01.2022 There was one bison in history that performed on race tracks during the 1980s in America, Canada, and Mexico. Harvey's story dates back to 1980, when his mother... was shot dead by a poacher. Collin Thorstenson, who at that time worked in the road crew on the Milwaukee Railway, took care of the orphan. He had to feed a bull from a bottle, and his car served as a cradle for Havry. The bison became so famous in the area that he was soon asked to race against a Quarter at the Energy Downs race track. And he won. And so began his bright racing career. Weighing just under 2,000 pounds, Harvey performed very well at 110 yards. His starts were faster than most horses. His appearance and sniffling frightened the horses, so that while they tried to stay as far away from him as possible, the bison was eager for victory. Unfortunately, America lost Harvey too soon. A buffalo died from hay poisoning in Tucson, Arizona, in 1991. Colleen Torstenson received $ 475,000 in damages. During his career, Harvey Wallbanger has won about 79 races from 93 starts.

14.01.2022 TRUCKING SOME OF OUR LAST CATTLE TO ROMA SALE This time it is the remainder of most of our heifers being sent to Roma for the Store Cattle Sale on Tuesday 30th June. It was a bit of a sad day as both Rob and I had to say good-bye to quite a few of our beloved poddy pets whom we had reared on bottled milk and pellets. We both hated the way they still kept giving us those loving looks as they lined up to lick us and have their last pats from their Mum and Dad. It became a bi...t too much for Mum when after they were all loaded on the big transport and it started to pull away. I had a little weep on the other Robyn's shoulder, as our babies rolled away, as it felt a bit like selling our own kids. This is the hard part of selling the farm, so it is starting to sink in at last!! See more

11.01.2022 G’Day Everyone! Think there’s been more communication on the moon than where we are in the big smoke these days. As we previously lived too far from town, we never had internet on our old pre-paid phones. However that all changed today, thanks to number one son Chris O'Sullivan. The weather has been great so far, the piles of packed boxes are becoming fewer by the day, we've had fun shopping and some of the new furniture has started to arrive, as we find our way way around our new habitat and town shops etc.

10.01.2022 Love these beautiful little Australians.

05.01.2022 As I've said earlier, today has a been a very emotional day, but that was so for more than one reason. My wonderful side kick, extra man on the job, faithful companion, paddock mustering helper, side saddle riding working dog, loving and ever so loyal pet and companion with those ever loving butter soft beautiful brown eyes....My 'black beauty', black kelpie Maisey passed away last night on this day, our Nungil settlement day. You sure picked a great day for it Maisey. Mais...ey was my ever faithful friend, companion, willing assistant, working dog. Poor Maise was found dead on the chain this morning after a short battle with Lymphoma. We really didn't think the poor old girl was so close to the end. It really came very quickly for her, which was a relief to say the least. When Maisey was off the chain, it did not matter where the other working dogs went, if I was in the house or garden she never left or stopped prowling around the house yard fence trying to catch a glimpse of me. She was my beloved black shadow, friend, loyal companion and work mate who was worth a good few men to me when mustering or penning up. Rob was preparing her grave today, so I rode up on my 2 wheeler motor bike, gave her many pats whilst talking to her to say farwell. Then I mounted that bike.....Her bike and said "Come on Maise, hop on and we'll ride back to the house together...and we did as I cradled her head in my elbow as I did so often. RIP Maisey with all our other much loved working dogs up on the rise towards the Mt Morris corner of Nungil....Loved my most loyal pooch....Will always remember you and now you will always reside at your home Nungil and chase those cows in the sky. Maisey you will always have a part of my heart. Perhaps you are helping Dad catch up with those heavenly cows. Catch 'ya on the other side one day down the track Maisey on our motor bike in the sky with the wind in our feathers. XXXX See more

03.01.2022 I'VE STARTED PAINTING - THE TOP BORE Been itching to get started, but I only have limited supplies at present. Suggested to my sister Jacq Warner late this aft...ernoon that we try and do a painting each. Really it was a way of getting myself going, but I was also prepared to give her some tips along the way too. Blending the colours was funny with only my first few pure colour pastels that I purchased from tutor Lyn Barnes at my first ever workshop in Quilpie back in March. Only took me a couple of hours to do, but then again it is only A4 size. It's not perfect and I actually left something out until I buy some more colours. Can you spot it? See more

02.01.2022 FROM A BLOODY ITALIAN WHO MIGRATED Giovanni Carbone states what is fact and what we all believe. Giovanni would be in his 70's at least. ... A GREAT PERSPECTIVE FROM A ‘NEW’ AUSTRALIAN - I emigrated to Australia over 60 years ago On the ship there were English (Poms), Italians (Spags), Germans (Huns), Yugoslavs (Yuges), Poles, Ducchys and Greeks, (Note All European people!!) all looking forward to starting a new life in Australia. I arrived with 30 quid in my pocket and that’s all I had to my name Did I put my hand out?? Of course not I got a job and paid my way just like everyone else who came to this country back then. Now, it’s my taxes that subsidise these people who think they have Gods given right (read Allah) to come here and criticise those of us who have worked for the country we now call home. If I didn’t like what I saw when I got here I would have gone home they have the same option. If they don’t want to become an Australian, they can GO BACK TO WHERE THEY CAME FROM WE DON’T NEED THEM HERE!!! When will this stop? They want 2 of their own public holidays, because Christians have Christmas, Easter & Good Friday, They force our children to eat Halal Meat Pies and Sausage Rolls from the school canteens, so the Muslim kids can feel more Aussie. We were not consulted about this change - they went ahead and just did it. Our foods are slowly all becoming Halal foods, our cheeses, chocolates & even good old sanitarium foods Our Government is ALLOWING this to happen. It has to stop now, while we still have some power to be able to stop it. Regarding Our National Anthem - I am sorry, but after hearing they want to sing the National Anthem in Arabic - enough is enough. Nowhere or at no other time in our nation's history, did they sing it in Italian, Japanese, Polish, Irish (Celtic), German, Portuguese, Greek, or any other language because of immigration. It was written in English, and should be sung word for word the way it was written. The news broadcasts even gave the translation -- not even close. I am not sorry if this offends anyone, this is MY COUNTRY - IF IT IS YOUR COUNTRY SPEAK UP ---- please pass this along I am not against immigration -- just come through like everyone else. Get a sponsor; have a place to lay your head; have a job; pay your taxes, live by the rules AND LEARN THE LANGUAGE as all other immigrants have in the past -- and LONG LIVE Australia ! PART OF THE PROBLEM Think about this: If you don't want to forward this for fear of offending someone- YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM !!!! Will we still be the Country of Choice and still be Australia if we continue to make the changes forced on us by the people from other countries who have come to live in Australia because it is their Country of Choice?? Think about it! IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. It is Time for Australia to Speak up! If you agree -- pass this along; if you don't agree -- delete it! that's your choice (in this Australia where 'freedom of speech' is a fundamental right of every Australian) THIS IS FROM A BLOODY ITALIAN DAGO BASTARD WHO MIGRATED TO AUSTRALIA IN THE LATE 1940s
