07.01.2022 We have lots of masks in store! Here is how to use them correctly.

06.01.2022 Dear Customers, I’m devastated by the media attention I’ve received today, as a consequence of what I perceive to be an unfair finding by ACAT. I was just so glad it was all over, until it wasn’t. Now, I can’t let the inaccuracies go undisputed, but tonight I’m too upset to start the work that must be done to fix this situation. I’m reading comments that are breaking my heart and show so little understanding of myself or my little business, much like the article itself.... I’m not sure why the reporter initially chose to paint me and my business in such a negative light, at a time when small businesses are folding in droves, but it was very hurtful. I have been in communication with him briefly, and he did update the article a little and is prepared to do more when I provide further documentation, which I will do asap. I just wish he had spoken to me before he printed the article, as he may have decided not to. To you though, I want you to know that I’ve owned Nunie for 13 years. Small business is hard at the best of times, but small business in 2020 has been near impossible. I’ve done everything I can to keep Nunie going and my precious staff employed (including working a second job myself, which is why you don’t find me in the shop as much as I used to be). I have downsized dramatically, and my current Nunie store is tiny, but I love it! Far from being the wealthy, unethical, entitled business owner some are painting me to be, I am instead a single Mum who rents, has a second job, a deep commitment to serving the community in meaningful ways, and a far different story to tell about this whole matter. For now, please just understand that I have been dealing with a very difficult personality, I have just been trying to do what was fair and just. When I get a chance to properly read through the findings myself I might consider appealing, but I really do just want this to be over. I have certainly learnt a lot through this whole process. Just briefly, I will reach out to local and national MPs to try and expose how an offshore deregistered company can claim GST illegally and ASIC allows them to post date their registration. There was an ATO investigation into this matter and I can only assume the ATO allowed them to back pay the GST illegally claimed as they can’t discuss the matter, with nothing but a slap on a wrist. Meanwhile my business was crucified just for trying to have a legal relationship and do the right thing. Vocal support against the meaness and rubbish on social media is much appreciated. I promise you, I don’t copy garments, chop off labels, put others on etc. As if I have the time! All the clothes in my shop have the original designers’ labels on them, including the supplier at hand. For those of you who know and trust me and have reached out in support, you will never know how much I treasure you. I keep nunie going for love, not because it’s easy, and you make it all worthwhile. Xx
