16.01.2022 Hard to believe isn’t it? One minute and a half, according to neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor, author of My Stroke of Insight. This can be likened to a labour contraction. Our emotions build, reach a peak and then abate. It is reassuring to remind ourselves of this.. we can tolerate the peaks and troughs of an emotional storm. BUT the emotion will only subside as long as we don’t add fuel to the fire. By this I refer to the narrative we tell ourselves - the judging, the s...torytelling, the resistance- we add to an already challenging situation that keeps us trapped in the emotional storm.
