21.01.2022 I’m hearing this a lot again ... ‘I don’t have time’ or ‘I’m too busy’ And when we do have time we are at pains to fill the space rather than allowing time to slow. As women we are so good at giving, many of us have this down to a fine art, including me!... We burn out. Consistently in a state of fatigue, tiredness or exhaustion. Self-care is a word often overused now, but my observation certainly not over practiced! Self-care is a muscle we need to flex each and every day. Simple daily micro moments of self-care can do wonders for us physically, mentally and emotionally. Something I’ve had to work hard on to create my own healthy selfcare habits. 10 minutes in the sun, a morning walk, diffusing my favourite essential oils and listening to my favourite music are all part of my daily self-care rituals. 20.01.2022 Slimming secrets of sleep! This is the hot topic this week in my 8 week women’s reset program! It certainly seems one of the biggest problems for most women over 40! Sleep is just as important to our wellbeing as nutrition and exercise. It's one of the most important pillars of physical and mental health. If you're not sleeping well, you're often not exercising or eating great either because you're so tired and exhausted.... Quality sleep improves cellular repair, detoxification, brain clarity and weight control. Lack of quality sleep can lead to a disruption in our hormones particularly fat storage hormone insulin. When insulin becomes sluggish, weight loss or even maintaining a healthy weight may become difficult. Quality sleep is a necessity, not a luxury, if you want to feel good. SLEEP ESSENTIALS Stress hormones like to hijack sleep, tip - find ways to reduce stress with daily meditation, breathing exercises and diffusing essential oils. Sugar is the enemy of sleep! Limit alcohol & caffeine. Drinking too much alcohol will place extra load on your liver and disrupt your sleep, more than likely around 3am, including those unwanted night sweats ladies! 12.01.2022 How do you start your day! I get asked a lot about how I start my day and what I eat in the morning, what supplements I take etc This is my non-negotiable morning routine, even when I’m away from home.... First thing on rising I have a warm water & fresh lemon or lime juice Morning juice: coconut water, handful of berries (whatever is in season strawberries, blueberries), celery, cucumber, slice of raw beetroot, handful of spinach, kiwifruit. Depending on the seasons, fruit & veg will vary - winter there’s plenty citrus such as grapefruit I like and pear. To this I add supplements suited to my health needs; -Fem21 women’s herbal formula; hormone balancing, liver & digestive cleansing -Probiotic Powder (includes organic ingredients & prebiotic) -Maca powder - ladies great for menopausal symptoms! -Collagen powder Then a small bowl of my popular homemade granola, with almond milk ! Lots of yummy healthy fats & protein, a great start to the day and well & truly gets me through the morning, no hunger or cravings ! I also take doTerra's Lifelong Vitality Nutrition Supplements daily which have really helped me with adrenal fatigue and burn out. No more foggy brain & slow starts in the morning!
