25.01.2022 As the year draws to a close, North West Eyes thanks all our patients, referring optometrists and doctors for their support over the past year. For us it is a great honour to be able to help people throughout the North West, New England and Upper Hunter regions with treating eye problems. This year we will be closed for Christmas from Friday December 20th until Sunday December 29th. Clinic reopens on Monday December 30th in a limited capacity, and we will be on call for emergencies from Monday December 30th until Sunday January 5th. For all out of hours ophthalmic emergencies, please contact the Tamworth Rural and Referral Hospital switchboard on 6767 7700 or present to your local Emergency Department. We wish you a Blessed and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

19.01.2022 With bushfire season well and truly underway, now is a good time to revise what to do and what NOT to do when exposed to smoke and burning embers. Common symptoms following exposure to and contact with smoke include pain, discomfort, redness and watering of the eyes. For more information about what to do in this situation, please follow the link below: https://ranzco.edu/news/when-smoke-gets-in-your-eyes

17.01.2022 It is with sadness that North West Eyes farewells Karissa Kennedy who is moving to Queensland with her family. Karissa has been with us for 9 years. With no medical background she quickly mastered all the activities in the front office of North West Eyes. Due to a growing volume of patients, Karissa was trained in the work-up of patients as they present with various eye problems. This involved the use of many pieces of equipment to measure various aspects of the eye so that ...our doctors could better assess our patients. Karissa quickly picked up all the necessary skills to do this and has been a highly valued member of our team. It is with sadness that we say farewell and we wish her, Jason and family all the very best in their new life up north. Thank you Karissa.
