25.01.2022 What a stunning morning. Thank you to Greenbank Scouts for allowing me to watch the Rover ceremony in Spring Mountain Reserve. I hope everyone enjoys this beautiful Saturday!!

21.01.2022 Over the past couple of years, nesting boxes have been placed in various parks across Division 11. I can let you know that they are being well used by locals!! So next time you are in a local park - look up and see if you can find a nesting box. You never know you might meet a new local resident.

21.01.2022 The fire ban has now been lifted. However we are still in Very High Fire Danger. So please be careful. More info below.

21.01.2022 Who loves Christmas time!!! Me!!! And I love driving my kids around to see the Christmas lights!! Can't wait!! Under 3 months now!!

20.01.2022 Grandparents day is coming up on the 25th of October and LCC has designed two colouring in cards to connect and celebrate grandparents and those who play a special role in our community. Two colouring in cards have been designed for children and young people to colour in and send a message to their grandparents or a resident living in an aged care or retirement home to those seniors who are not getting visitors in the aged care homes and retirement homes. If you would like a card, please either leave me a comment or send me an email and I will drop them off to you, your community group, school, kindy, day care, community hubs, community centres, local playgroup - the list is endless.

19.01.2022 Just FYI Flagstone Community Centre is closed this Thursday. But will be open again on Friday.

19.01.2022 Thank you to Greenbank Over 50's Walking Soccer for the invite to lunch to help you celebrate the fantastic season you have had!! And thank you for my certificate and fudge and apricot balls!! They were delicious!! Enjoy your Christmas break everyone!!

18.01.2022 Would you like to help me future plan Parks in Division 11? If you would like to have your say on how to improve our Division 11 Parks, please fill in one of these forms and email it back to me. This isn't a guarantee on what I can do, but I want your input to make sure what is upgraded is needed in the community.... If you are unable to print the form I am more than happy to drop one off to you, just let me know.

16.01.2022 Today is McHappy Day! As a former manager, I loved that I could get involved this year at my local store. Its like riding a bike - #ketchupinmyblood 16 years later! Ran into a few people I knew as well!! ... Please buy a Big Mac today and $2 will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities. Thank you to everyone who donated while I was in store today!!

16.01.2022 LCC has received a number of calls recently about the water play area not working at Flagstone Regional Park. Just a reminder there is a green button that needs to be pressed for the water play area to operate.

15.01.2022 Great news that more restrictions will ease next week. Proud to be a Queenslander!!

15.01.2022 Roadworks will begin in October Along sections of Silverwood Drive, Red Ash Court and Red Cedar Crescent at Flagstone. Some works will also extend into the entry of side streets adjacent to the work zone.... A construction site compound will be located at Red Cedar Crescent for the duration of the works. WHEN IS IT HAPPENING? Construction is scheduled to start in October 2020 and expected to be completed in February 2021, weather and construction conditions permitting. (Unfortunately I haven't been given a Day that they will start - except October 2020) Works will be carried out from 6.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the activities to be carried out, some weekend works may be required at times. WHAT CAN I EXPECT? While Council will make every effort to minimise disruption to residents and motorists during these works, some localised construction impacts are expected including: Changed traffic conditions including reduced speed limits and progressive lane / road closures. Signed traffic detours will operate during the works with traffic controllers on site during construction working hours to assist motorists as required. Access will be maintained for local residents during the works. Traffic congestion and travel delays are expected. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and plan their journey where possible. Temporary interruption to local services during relocation works. Residents will be provided with advanced notice of any service interruptions. Temporary removal of street parking during the works. Increased levels of noise, dust and vibration during construction works. The site team will implement measures to reduce these impacts as much as practical. Access to driveways will be maintained as much as practical during the works.

14.01.2022 This morning I popped into Thecoffeeclub to get a coffee before my first meeting. And Michelle the store owner came out to meet me. Michelle is also a local #Division11LCC resident and owns all 3 Browns Plains stores. Sandy is one of store managers who is also a #Division11LCC resident, and most of the staff are local residents. #supportlocalbusiness #shoplocal #BuyLoganStayLocal

13.01.2022 Night works will occur on Stoney Camp Rd between the 28/09/2020 02/10/2020. Works will commence 7:30pm and due to finish at 4am and should take up to 5 nights to complete. Due to the large traffic volumes during the day time and the size and design of the shoulder, the work on this road must be carried out during the night as a matter of safety for both our staff and the public.

12.01.2022 This afternoon I was lucky enough to pop into PRSHS and meet with the students who were part of the Catapult program this year. Myself, Councillor Jacob Heremaia and Tim Frazer - Councillor Division 7 gave them some maison jars and lots of cloud lollies to start their journey. Check out their website www.hoblo.org

09.01.2022 Today I have to pass on my deepest consolences to the Savage family of Division 11, with the passing of Bernie Savage. Bernie was a Volutenteer Fire Fighter for the RFSQ and Captain of the Jimboomba Auxiliary for the past 30 years and more recently was a part of the Greenbank Auxiliary. He was a generous, great and giving man. A doting grandfather, father, husband and friend to all.... Sending all of the Savage family love and hugs from the Willcocks'.

07.01.2022 Yesterday morning I was privileged to attend the City of Logan Volunteers breakfast to celebrate our many volunteers and organisations in our city. It was fantastic to be able to thank and acknowledge our communities volunteers. Volunteers give their time, love and (money in some cases) to assist our community. ... Thank you to everyone who volunteers you truly are amazing. And congratulations to everyone who was nominated.

06.01.2022 Tomorrow morning Logan’s volunteering heroes will be recognised in person and online this year as part of a specially adapted City of Logan Volunteers Awards program. Award nominees will attend, along with another guest of their choosing. and the event will have a COVID Safe plan in place. Others in the volunteering community are encouraged to livestream the event via Logan City Council Youtube channel.... Logan City Council Mayor Darren Power said it was a privilege to acknowledge the city’s dedicated volunteers with the special event. Volunteers in the City of Logan help hold our community together, Councillor Power said. This year, more than ever before, our volunteers have stepped up, reached out and supported our communities through challenging times. They have fed the hungry, provided for the needy and perhaps, most importantly, have reached out in friendship to the vulnerable. While it is a shame we cannot welcome each and every one of our volunteers at this time, their contributions are no less valued. I am looking forward to seeing our city’s heroes both at the breakfast and online and expressing my sincere thanks to them personally. Awards will be presented to the City of Logan’s most outstanding volunteers and volunteer organisations. The City of Logan Volunteers Awards will commence at 7.30am, with the presentation of the winners starting from approximately 8.40am. The livestream will begin at same time on youtube.com/user/logancitycouncil

06.01.2022 ARTC are holding numerous Community Drop in sessions in December. They hadn't planned on having any in Division 11, even though Division 11 is the most affected area in Logan. But...... they have agreed to hold one on Tuesday the 8th of December between 1 and 5pm at the Greenbank Scouts Den.... If you can not make this session to ask questions there are others in the picture below. I did not pick the venue and I did request drop in sessions at Greenbank Woolies or Coles at Flagstone, as I know this would get far greater reach in our community. And I have also made it clear that it is disappointing that none of the drop in sessions are held when there is a train coming through our community........... If you don't know what ARTC is, in a nutshell, it is Inland Rail bringing 45 trains, double stacked up to 3.6km long through our community 24 hours a day. ARTC are NOT going to upgrade our Middle Road Round About Bridge or the Pub Lane bridge as they 'don't want to inconvenience the community' and it is 'cheaper for them to lower the track'. So far there is no benefit to our community bringing this infrastructure through our residential communities. Make sure you attend a session to ask questions and state your objections and find out what our community is receiving! Please share into groups so we get our community to attend.
