13.01.2022 Today is the day, World Bee Day 2020 is here The purpose of World Bee Day is to raise awareness of the essential role bees and other pollinators play for fo...od security and ecosystem health. Slovenia was approved to proclaim 20 May as World Bee Day in 2017 by the United Nations. This date is significant as it is the birth date of Anton Jana (17341773), a Slovenian beekeeper. He was considered to be the pioneer and great authority of modern beekeeping. Given the limiting conditions on social gatherings due to COVID-19, it's great to see the innovate ways we can still celebrate our special pollinators. Check out the range of events at: www.worldbeeday.org.au
