14.01.2022 Oakabella Homestead and Tea Rooms is located 35klm north of Geraldton. We are currently looking for competent cook/chef from the beginning of October. (There will be a crossover period with our current chef to learn the ropes.) Oakabella offers unpowered camping, a Tearooms Cafe which is open Thursday to Sunday, 9am to 2pm (Monday to Wednesday 8am-9am for Campers) together with tours of the Historic Homestead. Special events occur regularly including our live music dinner ni...ghts on the back of the rustic truck stage together with weddings. Our Tearooms specialise in homemade fresh food and Scones. The Position: We are looking for an exceptional, experienced chef/cook to take the reigns in the kitchen. A sensible and considered approach to cost control, produce, speed of service and maintaining a productive and happy work force are all vital for the success of the right candidate. Ideally, You Will Have: Cafe Experience A rounded approach to menu creation and ability to balance cost and value Enjoy early mornings and are looking for balance from your roster A creative mind and can do attitude A desire to produce fantastic dishes, consistently in a positive and passionate kitchen Ideally you will also be able to make coffees when needed and have your Manager's RSA. 12.01.2022 After our rapid and unplanned departure from Wooleen we headed south in search of somewhere to stop on the way home. A pleasant surprise at the end of the day t...ook us to Oakabella Homestead, somewhere we had been meaning to check out for a long while! We only had one night this time but will definitely be back! Oakabella is more lush than many of the other WA stations being closer to the coast and the rolling fields of lush green grass was a welcome reprieve from the desert dust. Plus there are team rooms here and the menu looks EPIC!! 04.01.2022 **Tearooms closed for Summer** Covid 19 has certainly changed a few things for us. Our summer months are usually filled with cruise ship visitors, backpackers ...and international wind sailing enthusiasts which has allowed us to remain open in previous years. Unfortunately without these visitors, it really isn't viable to keep the Tearooms open for this coming summer with minimal numbers coming through. As a result, we have made the decision to embrace Covid 19 and take a few months off. The Tearooms will be closed from now right through until the end of February. We will still be open for events and will advertise these on here. Thankyou so much to everyone who continues to support us. We wish you all a Merry Christmas. Bring on 2021.
