24.01.2022 "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them."... Lest we forget. On the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, we observe a minutes’ silence and reflect on those soldiers who died fighting to protect the nation.

24.01.2022 Last week, I showed you the 'behind the scenes' photo shoot for Eric and Yvonne as they worked it for the camera.... and today as promised, the finished item. I think they both look wonderful! Thank you Eric and Yvonne for sharing your story with us. I know your new found celebrity status within the village won't go to your heads, but if it does, we know where to find you for autographs.

24.01.2022 Earlier this week I asked one of our newest residents how they were settling into their new home, the reply... "I love it here. I walked into my bathroom the very first morning and felt like I was in a fancy hotel" Exactly the response we love to hear!

23.01.2022 Residents of Oak Tree Kanwal gathered for a dawn service this morning outside the village centre, to pay respect to those who died in war, and those currently serving in the armed forces. The Last Post was observed, then residents joined together for tea, toast and vegemite. #ANZACDay2021

17.01.2022 The Oak Tree Kanwal social group held another successful dinner tonight, Mark & Lils beef stew! Temperature outside was cold, but no match for a hearty stew, a couple of wines and a few laughs with friends.

17.01.2022 Look what arrived in the village yesterday? Ray and Iris think we should name her, any ideas?

13.01.2022 Sure it’s a nice sunset... but will you look at that village! Some lucky people get to call this place home.

13.01.2022 Our wonderful residents Eric and Yvonne participated in a photo shoot today, with the ever professional Ben from BC Images. I’m still not sure what they were whispering in each other’s ears, but they were certainly smiling a lot! The way the two of them walked, I suspect they have done this sort of thing before... stay turned for the finished product!

12.01.2022 Today is World Mental Health Day. During this time of physical distancing and heightened anxiety in our community due to the Covid-19 we are reminding all our residents, family and friends to look after their mental health. Remember to eat well, sleep well and exercise. Try creative ways to engage socially. Be kind to yourself, and to others. It may be hard to focus on your wellbeing and mental health at this time, but prioritising this is more important than ever.

12.01.2022 I’m often asked what’s available in the local area? This short 2min video gives you a quick snapshot of what you have on your doorstep, there’s plenty more... but we don’t want to give away all our secrets!

Our residents can sit back, relax and watch their gardens grow, knowing that when it comes time for garden maintenance, Brent is there for them, to get the job done.

08.01.2022 It’s a sign! I wasn’t too sure what to write on our first ever chalk board message, but young at heart and kind in spirit pretty much sums up everybody in this village. Our residents are are great bunch!

07.01.2022 Thanks for the delivery of The Senior, filled with great articles again this month on what's going within our local community. I've still got a few copies left, so if you're in the area and would like to pick up a free copy, pop into the display villa here at 85 Wahroonga Road Kanwal, we are open 10am till 2pm (Monday to Friday).

06.01.2022 We like to think of the community centre as an extension of the residents living space. So when the time comes to invite the entire family around for a big celebration, we need to make sure the communal kitchen is fully stocked and can cater for large family gatherings.... I think all these boxes of kitchen goods will do the trick! Less than four weeks till our Grand Open Days, will you be joining us?

06.01.2022 You may have seen individuals or groups at the park moving in a slow, harmonised routine.
