24.01.2022 This is how we celebrate a shock win... After a day or so to get back to the #dailygrind and recover from a big weekend at #JustSmokin2019 we just received this photo from @fiona_coleman - and I laughed out loud! We may not have had the result we wanted on the weekend, we're out of practice, we forgot stuff, we stuffed things up, we had things cooked way too early and some that we thought weren't going to cook on time... but at the end of it all, we managed to win ...something and come away with some great memories and lessons learnt. #CanCookBeef #ShitAtEverythingElse #ThisTime So, we're really not going to complain... and we haven't got time to stress about it, we've gotta get on with getting ready for Smoke in Broke in less than 2 weeks. Ultimately, we feel very lucky to be part of a community in which people share their passion rather than try to keep it all to themselves and where people tend to be pretty down to earth and up for a laugh! We are thankful to our own businesses that support our BBQ lifestyle and to a few other key sponsors without whom we'd be much more broke than we already are: Thanks to @stephencooke1992 and #TumbiWholesaleMeats for the high quality products supplied and for a couple of cracker ideas to help us with our butchery skills, also to Grant Coleman at #WinghamBeefExports for more of the same. We'd also normally thank Mark from @countrybrewerport because he helps us with all our Moonshine, but of course, we didn't take any this time being hosted at a Pub. ;) From an event point of view, Dion ran a cracker of an event and we appreciate the work his team and the @roundaboutinn2422 put in to running this event for all of us. 22.01.2022 We are still recovering from what was a MASSIVE weekend at Smoke in Broke but we just wanted to announce that thanks to all the amazing support we received, our goal of raising $2,000 for breast cancer research has been SMASHED! Congratulations to Jono Murphy (from Smokin Cobs) for taking home the 'winner takes all' prize pool of over $2,500 worth of prizes including a Crimson Weber Kettle, a box of Angus Reserve striploins, a family accommodation package on the Sunshine C...oast and tickets to Australia Zoo, 18 bottles of wine, Oakridge rubs, Four Monkeys rubs, more spices, seasonings and sauces than you could poke a stick at, chocolates, aprons, oven mits, hair care products and of course, six free steak knives and more... Thanks to all the following people/teams/groups (in no particular order) for their contribution whether financially or in moral support - we really appreciate everyone who helped.
