24.01.2022 - As part of this year’s (very different) OWPS Community Festival we present the K-6 ART PROJECT - raising money specifically for K-2 Home Reader Books in 2020. Last year’s artworks were proudly displayed over the weekend of the OWPS Community Festival, allowing the students a creative way to be directly involved with the festival. This year, the art project has been one of very few hands-on fundraising events that has involved stud...ents from all year levels in a creative and engaging way! Participating students were asked to create an artwork on their canvas inspired by absolutely anything they like, using FLUORO colours. These artworks are on display in the school hall and have injected some serious colour into the school! For those of us that can't see the artworks in real life, here is a video for you to enjoy this year's theme: Fluoro! See more

22.01.2022 During week 7, our ‘Redbacks’ debating team debated against Woolooware PS, Como PS and Beverly Hills PS. This was the first time our school debated using an online platform.... The topics were strongly debated using excellent arguments, composure and clarity. The debaters received the topic one hour prior to debating. They thought up arguments and wrote down their points. The only support they received was from a dictionary. An adjudicator described one of the debates as being of Year 8 standard. They had an excellent win against Beverly Hills North PS. The topic was: Primary school students should start each day with a 30 minute exercise class. Oatley West lost the toss and debated as the negative team. This was a very difficult topic to debate from a negative perspective. Special congratulations goes to Leya, Alfie and Bree. This was their first representative debate competition. Our debaters are: Dominique Bree Pippa Leya Alfie Sarah Mr Poullos

16.01.2022 We need your help :) Content: http://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/owpsparents20... Dear Parents, http://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/owpsparents20 OWPS has the opportunity to participate in the "Tell Them From Me" survey. The survey has three components for teachers, students and parents to offer their perspective on the school's strengths and weaknesses. It will give us some valuable information that will assist us in planning whole school improvement initiatives. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes and is a great chance to have some input into how the school develops in the future. The answers are anonymous and are not linked to individual users. If you click on the link above, it will take you directly to the survey site (right click and "open hyperlink"). We look forward to getting your input and thank you in advance for taking the time to give it to us! Kind Regards Paul Nash Principal

We started by using informal units - this would be great to do at home with paddle pop sticks, paper clips and blocks! In 1 Green, we used interlocking cubes to estimate and then measure a poster, book and a desk. Working in groups also allowed for us to turn take and hear each other’s estimate before we measured. If you have a photo you would like to have included in the video presentation, please scan any photos and send to [email protected] (Attention Miss A), including name and any rank/title and include student/s name and class. We will need these by the latest Sunday 8th November to allow time to prepare the video. If you have already emailed please try again. Thank you for assisting us
