05.01.2022 Going, going, gone. We started this project in 2005, installed it in 2009, and finally decommissioned it early today. While one chapter closes today, another exciting one opens tomorrow with a new Ute by local artist Stuart Taylor in its place. Hats off to the huge number of community volunteers (over 200) that helped Georgia, Kate and I make this community project a reality. Big nod to the welder that lives at my house that spent countless hours welding the substructure of the very rusty Ute even before we started mosaicing. After all this time, it didnt even move an inch when the forklift moved it. #communityart #deniliquin #transmute #utes #mosaicart
