19.01.2022 A little explanation about how the Government funded free flu vaccinations work and why we don't have them yet. Adelaide is divided into zones of delivery by the SA Vaccine Distribution Centre and our delivery day is fortnightly on Tuesdays at some stage of the day. We were only allowed to place our order on 28th March. The delivery then takes place 2 weeks later taking into account the volume of stock that is ordered, processed and then delivered to ALL of Adelaide. We are ...not able to request emergency deliveries between ordering periods. We also need to take into account the logistics of how much vaccine we can safely store onsite in our dedicated vaccine fridge and maintain mandatory cold-chain adherence to ensure that the vaccines remain safe and viable.Whilst we understand people's anxiety, it is, as you can read, completely out of our hands. Being an SA Health site, we are bound by the way the system operates. The alternative is to attend a pharmacy that supplies a flu vaccination service, for which you pay for. If you registered your name on our list for an eligible Government flu shot, you will be contacted when we take delivery. The media coverage in the last few days encouraging people to be vaccinated has not helped us in this situation, and at a time when our health resources are being tested by COVID19 and public concern, this makes our working days even more challenging. Please be patient and mindful that we are doing the best we can under the circumstances. See more

18.01.2022 Apologies in advance if you happen to ring at lunchtimes around 12.30-1.30 period; we sometimes have to schedule staff meetings at that time so you may get the answering machine. We will ring you back as soon as possible. Thanks for your understanding.

17.01.2022 If you have private call blocking installed on your mobile phone, chances are that you will miss a call from O'Brien Street if you are expecting a telephone consultation. We have 4 phone lines so a call from us may not necessarily appear as 82314026.

12.01.2022 If you receive an SMS reminder for your appointment at O'Brien Street, please either type Yes or No. Anything else confuses the system and we have to spend time opening the program to see what you wrote. Just Yes to confirm or No to cancel. Thanks

10.01.2022 We are now able to offer telephone consultations during this period of isolation due to COVID 19. We are encouraging people where possible to remain home to contain the spread of infection. These telephone consultations are able to be bulk-billed due to new item numbers released yesterday and also apply to clinical Psychologists and Psychiatrists. Prescriptions can be faxed and mailed to your dispensing pharmacy. Pathology test forms also can be mailed to you at home and performed at a collection centre close to where you live- these are listed on the back of the pathology request form. We ideally would like you to stay safe and not come to see us in person unless absolutely necessary and this will also keep us safe and well and continue to provide health care to you. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

10.01.2022 We are involved in a Practice team meeting today between 1.00- 2.00 pm. Please leave a message on the machine and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks.

09.01.2022 We do not have stock of the seasonal flu vaccine yet. If you have left your name on the list, we will call you to arrange a time. We appreciate anxiety at this time but we are being inundated with calls all asking the same question. If you have registered your name with us, we will contact you as soon as we can. Thank you for your cooperation.

08.01.2022 Telehealth appointments are only available to patients who are a patient of the practice and have been seen by a GP here at O'Brien Street in the last 12 months. This is a stipulation of the Federal Government and not our decision. Essentially, this is to ensure that we have a current medical history with you as a patient and to enable the best care and advice to be given to you.

07.01.2022 Centre Pharmacy have moved locations and are now open at their new site. Please note that they are no longer open on Saturdays and their new hours are now Monday to Friday- 9.00 am - 5.00 pm

07.01.2022 Great news for COVID testing- the new drive through facility at Victoria Park Racecourse in the city. No referral required but be prepared for delays due to this no referral required criteria. It's heartening news that people in SA are keen to be tested to ensure the safety of the wider community. If you have any questions, the hotline phone number for COVID enquiries is 1800 253 787.

06.01.2022 Due to social distancing measures and the limited size of our waiting room, please don't bring friends or family to your appointment- we don't have the space to accommodate people who don't need to be here. Please respect the health of others by maintaining these measures.

05.01.2022 A gentle reminder that we need to consider the health of both you and our health professionals when you have face to face appointments. If you find yourself needing to cough or sneeze, please use a tissue and if it becomes uncontrollable, we might need to terminate the appointment due to infection control reasons. We want to look after you and keeping our health-workers safe is important too. Thanks for your assistance.

03.01.2022 Please present your Medicare Card and Concession/Pension Card at every visit for billing purposes; we are experiencing issues with Medicare billing and need to verify your eligibility at each visit to ensure that your GP is being paid. It also allows us to confirm your details in our system. Thanks.

03.01.2022 We've had a few enquiries about the SMS reminder system and letting you know if the appointment is telehealth or an actual attendance with your GP. Sadly, the nature of the program is that it is an automated message so we can't remind you of anything other than the date and time.

01.01.2022 Telehealth Appointment Reminder: Please remember that if you are having a telehealth appointment, the number that will be calling you will display as a "Private Number" on your mobile. Whilst the GP's try to keep to time with their consultations, there are sometimes delays.
