22.01.2022 Occuhealth continuing the conversation after R U Ok? Thursday the 10th of September is R U OK Day. The Occuhealth Team hosted a morning tea and shared tips and experiences around mental health and the importance of knowing what to say if someone responds no. 22.01.2022 Long term exposure to dust can generate a number of significant health issues from chronic debilitation all the way through to death depending on the duration of exposure and the type of dust that workers are exposed to. In New South Wales, no worker can be exposed to dust in excess of the exposure standards that are prescribed in legislation. In NSW, a new respirable crystalline silica workplace exposure standard of 0.05mg/m3 is now in effect. Mine operators and quarry manag...ers need to be aware of the changes to the exposure standards and take proactive steps to identify how it is they are going to meet those new standards. The member organisations of the NSW Mine Safety Advisory Council have combined resources to create a dust toolkit. The toolkit is designed to provide mine workers and mine operators with information, advice and guidance related to managing dust. You can find the toolkit here: https://www.resourcesregulator.nsw.gov.au//msac-dust-toolk
