24.01.2022 Hello Everyone! We have decided that we will be starting YG up again come the start of Term 3 of 2020! - The first YG being on the 24th of July 2020 While it is very exciting that we are able to start YG again, we must remember to follow all Government guidelines. ... This means that you will be required to provide your details in our sign in register, which will be stored in case of the need for contact tracing. Other social distancing measurements are still needing to be adhered to as well; - All participants are required to maintain a 1.5m distance - 4m2 per person for indoor spaces is required (The church can only hold 20 people at one time - so we will be utilising outside frequently) - If you are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19, we request that you do not attend Oakwood Youth Group, regardless of how mild your symptoms are - Frequently wash your hands/sanitize your hands - Follow all Oakwood YG Leaders directions, especially regarding health and safety. 23.01.2022 A reminder that tonight is our first YG back after a long break. We hope to see you all there. A reminder that all government recommendation regarding social distancing will be being implemented. This means that we will be trying to utilise outside as much as possible (weather permitting) to maintain correct numbers for indoor use. Bring along something warm too, as it could be a tad windy and chilly.

21.01.2022 **MYSTERY NIGHT** This Friday night (06/03/20) we will be having our Mystery night on! We will be starting at 7:00pm and be finishing around 9:30pm at Oakwood Community Church. Come prepared for some laughter, some challenges and some fellowship together, we're not giving away what we are doing, but if you look at the flyer from last fortnight and the event flyer on Facebook, you may get a bit of a clue as to what we will be getting up to.... Cost for the night will be $2.50

19.01.2022 **Update on COVID-19 and OCCYG** Due to the current circumstances that we are facing, we have decided to cancel all Youth Groups for the time being and the foreseeable future. When we are in a position to safely operate again, an update will be provided and sent out on all platforms of media. We encourage you to continue praying for the situation and hope to be back together again soon.

16.01.2022 Hello Youth Groupers! 2021 is well under way and school has begun. Unfortunately though, Youth Group is on a temporary hold. We were dissapointed that we couldn't cater for Youth to start at the beginning of 2021, but due to a lot of our leaders being very busy at the beginning of the year with work, a wedding and other things, we aren't able to start back up yet.... We are aiming, at this stage, to start back up again, at the beginning of Term 2. However, if we have enough leaders, we will try and start back up half way through Term 1 Watch this Facebook page and emails for updates. 14.01.2022 **Trivia Night - This Friday Night** At this point of time, we will still be holding Trivia Night on, at Oakwood Church. We ask that if you are presenting with symptoms of sickness, that you do stay at home and not attend Youth Group. We expect that all people, (Youth, parents and leaders), adhere to and follow any Government recommendations and guidelines. Should, for any reason, we be required to cancel, an update will be given.... 12.01.2022 **The Amazing Race** This Friday Night (Youth will be travelling around town in leaders vehicles, of which only Open Licenses will be able to drive) Starting at 6:30pm this week, but still finishing at 9:30pm. Cost will be $2.50. Supper provided.... Also a reminder that the following fortnight (18th of September) will be our Youth Camp at Baffle Creek, so please start to bring back forms ASAP to allow for catering and organisation purposes.

08.01.2022 **POSTPONED and Switched with Movie Night ** - (Please see our new post) BUSH NIGHT - 7/8/20... Hi everyone, Tomorrow night we will be having a bush night! We will be meeting at the church for a 6:30 - 6:40 departure and will be back at the church at 9:30pm. Please wear closed in shoes and bring some warm clothing. Cost for the night is $2.50. Supper will be provided. **Please remember all requirements regarding social distancing as required by the government and the OCCYG ** - If you are feeling unwell or show any symptoms of sickness, please do not attend. - As a preventative measure, we will be minimising the amount of people allowed to travel together in a vehicle. So please follow all leaders requests regarding this matter. - All attendants must sign in and out for the purposes of contact tracing, should we be required to provided details. - Please maintain the 1.5m distancing rule.

06.01.2022 Hello everyone, ***Please still bring along your Beanies for the Beanie competition*** At this stage we will be postponing the bush night to next term and swapping it with a movie night due to wet weather. So bring along some pillows/beanbags and get comfy to watch a movie and enjoy some snacks.... We will now also be meeting from 7:00pm instead of the 6:30pm as previously organised.

05.01.2022 Hi everyone, We are currently in the process of reviewing what starting YG up again will look like. As we come into school holidays, the Leaders of OCCYG and Oakwood Church will discuss what we can do to minimize risks to all who attend, what activities we will be able to do and how many people can attend. Once a decision has been made regarding how we will operate again, we will send out an email and Facebook update regarding when we are starting and what you might need to ...do to minimize risk to yourselves and others. 02.01.2022 Good morning everyone, We hope that you are all doing well. We are certainly missing being able to meet together for some fun and fellowship, but hopefully soon we will be able to come together again. Below is a link to a message from one of Oakwood Church's Deacons, Ashley Walmsley (Who some of you will most likely know). It goes for about 15 mins and I found it very helpful and challenging.... Youth Group will remain closed for now, until we are in the clear and are safe to meet again as decided by the Australian Government. There was a suggestion put forward that we could start a group chat to talk and share with each other. If this is something you would all be interested in, please let me know in the comments below. 01.01.2022 This Friday night, we will be going fishing! We are meeting at Oakwood Church at 6.30pm to depart out to a church members property that backs onto the Burnett River, where we will be fishing and enjoying some fellowship. We will be travelling in Leaders vehicles to the property and back to the church for a 9.30pm collection at Oakwood Church. There will be some spare rods or hand reels(but if you have your own, bring it along), bait provided and supper provided... not to wor...ry, we won't be eating the fish we catch though. The cost for the night is $2.50. Please wear closed in shoes and if you have a head torch or a light, it might be worth bringing it along, alternatively there will be some lighting around. See you all on Friday night at 6.30pm!
