25.01.2022 Let’s talk about sunshine! Most of us ladies living in the Territory( if you’re anything like me) are here chasing the sun! Unfortunately this big ball of fire that burns billions of miles away has some pretty harsh effects on both the appearance and health of our skin. That healthy glow we seek is basically pigmented skin caused by an increase in melanin. Melanin is the natural pigment that gives our skin, hair and eyes their color. Melanoma occurs when t...he pigment-producing cells overproduce and become cancerous. Wearing a Physical sunscreen like the @organicspa_skin Beauty Balm can help to prevent sun damage and cells from becoming cancerous. As we get older our skin’s ability to repair itself gets less, so damage from years before can suddenly become visible. Most UV damage is done to the skin before the age of 15, but as we age the damage replays itself and you are left with blotchy, uneven skin that can’t repair itself in the same way it could when it was younger. This is why wearing sunscreen EVERYDAY from the time we are young is SO IMPORTANT. A beauty/wellness service that supports conscious beauty; causing zero harm to animals, has minimal effect on the environment and uses sustainable brands that give back. My long term vision is to run an eco spa chain that operates as a social enterprise - offering equal work opportunity and training programs to teens going through hardship. Giving them a f...ocus and teaching them to use their energy in a positive manner, giving back to the community. Here I can provide a supportive and safe work environment I spent my 20s working in five star Day Spas, onboard Super Yachts as Beauty Therapist and Yoga Instructor. I travelled and volunteered in various animal rescue centres and worked at a remote Surf/Yoga retreat in Nicaragua, where I discovered my combined love of wellness, the ocean and Yoga. Many years of off the beaten track travel opened my eyes to the environmental and animal cruelty issues the world faces, especially to how unaware so many of us are. My business strives to be a part of the environmental movement that is currently heading in a positive direction. Getting out in nature provides a wonderful escape from stress, anxiety and negative thoughts. It has been long thought that a dip in the ocean has several health benefits. Ocean water and seaweed is significantly higher in minerals including sodium, chloride, sulphate, magnesium and calcium, and because of this its highly useful for ...skin conditions such as psoriasis. The ocean also has benefits for eczema; sufferers find great success with salt water, particularly Epsom salt.
