01.01.2022 I attended a fantastic piano teaching workshop over the Christmas break with a senior teacher of the Taubman Method, John Bloomfield. Dorothy Taubman the founder of the Taubman Method took the time to observe and note the movements of pianists who were functioning efficiently at a high level ie. making beautiful music with ease of movement and minimum injury. Whilst i have been chipping away at some of the Taubman concepts for a number of years now, it was an absolute thril...l to have a master teacher here in Australia and to hear the concepts explained in new ways. Some of the subjects explored were wrist rotation, pedalling, how to organise the notes of a melody into bites that the brain easily understands and remembers. All amazing stuff, which i have begun to include in lessons this year and am already hearing excellent results. Wishing you all a Happy 2014. See more
