23.01.2022 As prosthetic eye wearers what would be the ultimate prize for your eye journey.......Self Confidence, Improved Socket Health, Comfortable Prosthetic Eye, More Knowledge. Are these things you have thought about before. Have you really thought about how you are affected by your journey to date. Let me know your thoughts and feel free to private message if you feel more comfortable doing that.

23.01.2022 Great results for our client from India. His previous prosthesis had no movement and left his lids uneven. He now has much more symmetry and 90% motility. Another happy client.

23.01.2022 Back in 2017 my family and i had the great honor of working with Google and became part of the Google Search On series. This has ignited my passion and opened my eyes to the possibilities available to me. https://lnkd.in/ea_kdSv

22.01.2022 Matching set for one of my favorite clients. I learnt so much about being totally blind and how he just gets on with everything. Respect

22.01.2022 I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. Final touches over the next few days with a big effort going in over the weekend. We have a client Tuesday so the pressure is on. May is fully booked now and limited spaces in June so get in touch for bookings.

22.01.2022 I miss this man. My family and I are so greatful for having met him and his family. The opportunity and knowledge that he has given me has opened up a whole new chapter in my life. My passion is now my work and my work is now my passion. Exciting to think I have only just begun and have already achieved so much.

21.01.2022 Never to young to paint an eye. At least if the colour is wrong she can only blame herself.

20.01.2022 A couple of tools to help make an eye.......there are multiple pieces and multiple tools that bring it all together

19.01.2022 Good first day in clinic with this legend. Motility can be the most important thing for a client who has just had their eye removed. This is the wax model before it goes into the oven to change over to acrylic. Tomorrow we will be working on enhancing the color and staining the sclera, we will add some veins to finish it off.

15.01.2022 20 years in between new eyes. Battling with discomfort and discharge is not something that should be part of your journey. Having a new eye prosthesis made using the impression technique can quite literally be life changing and will leave you wondering why you didn't do it sooner. The results speak for themselves. Another happy customer whos journey has been made easier.

14.01.2022 Never too old to upgrade

13.01.2022 Excuse me you want a what??? Oh a purple Galaxy party eye as well. No worries we can do that.

12.01.2022 It has been a busy year so far. We have made Abdi 3 eyes so far to get him well on his way to feeling the best he can. He had a very complex case with lower lid issues so we have now referred him on to get surgery soon. Once he has that sorted we can make him his final definitve eye.

10.01.2022 Meet one of the OG's. Amazing story.

10.01.2022 Sometimes you just have to let loose and do what you are told. Another fun one in time for Halloween

09.01.2022 One of our clients this week flew up from Melbourne. Why not make a holiday of it and explore the beautiful Gold Coast

09.01.2022 What a great month November was. We met some really awesome people and were blessed to be able to help them along on their eye journey. Hi Dwayne. Just to let you know that i am very happy with my new eye and to thank you for making what has always been a horrid and enormously stressful thing into a positive experience. I am so grateful. Also enjoyed our chats. S.R... This is exactly why i do this and what keeps me going.

08.01.2022 Eyes everywhere. Busy week in clinic this week. Meeting some special people and sharing stories. What more could you want. #oculusprosthetics #artificialeyes #ocularist #australianocularist #opthamology #oculoplastics

07.01.2022 I had an awesome time making this for it's 17 year old owner. He was our DJ while I done all the work!!!

06.01.2022 This is from Ocularist Christina who works at Center for Ocular Prosthetics LLC. Quite often it can be a confusing answer given when asked Why and when for prosthesis replacement. Christina's answer. It all depends on the person. Insurance covered a removed eye about every 5 years. People who wear a shell may need one every 2 years. But if anyone had surgery that changes the shape of the socket they should be able to receive a new prosthesis. ... The reason to change the prosthesis frequently is to adjust to the bodys ever changing positioning. They are like teeth always shifting. It would be the equivalent of trying to put in a retainer you wore in your mouth when you were 10 but are now 20. Your body would have changed significantly. And if the prosthesis doesnt fit right or causes rubbing it could also expose the implant placed behind it, cause a sunken look, create excess discharge and so on. The other reason you go to see your ocularist is so that they can clean and maintain the prosthesis, let you know if there have been any major changes and check behind your socket. For those who have had cancer in the socket there can be a reoccurrence and we check for any abnormalities. We also check for stys and any redness that may be caused by the prosthesis fitting illy. Hope this helps. Ive also had patients that have worn their prosthesis for 10-20 years and somehow havent had a change occur. everyone is different.

06.01.2022 A few steps in the process, on day one of a three day appointment. The road to a new eye. Implant size selection can be the difference between a good result and a really difficult to make eye. This one is extremely thin which means a different plan of attack.

05.01.2022 Replicating my wife's eyes has always been a daunting idea for me as they are the most amazing eyes. I have set myself the task of making this in the new year as a little challenge to myself. It has to be 100% matching and I am allowed to use any technology available to me. Watch this space

03.01.2022 Thank you lunch lady magazine for the cool spread on our families journey and the birth of Oculus Prosthetics #oculusprosthetics #aneyefitforliberty @ Gold Coast, Queensland
