16.01.2022 Single Touch Payroll Hot Issues Employers should embrace STP before 30 September 2019 There is a General Deferral until then for Small Employers From 30 September the ATO will begin chasing employers to get them onboard... ATO are following up on all large employers who have not commenced reporting through STP (including government departments). There is less than 10% of large employers who are not yet reporting and only 5% (approx 3500) who are not subject to a known deferral. Closely held employees do not have to be reported until 30 June 2020 but you may if you can. To find out what is required to update your software, please call us.

05.01.2022 Heres a Timely Article! Ive been having discussions with Business Owners about these very issues and ideas the past week or so. Its a good thing to be informed of the Act and the Facts. There are always pros and cons around working Public Holidays - the least worry should be how much your employees are being paid - your focus could be on the additional service your customers will be getting and how good theyll feel about your business especially if your competition isnt bothering. If you look at it sideways its cheap advertising and great GoodWill and dont we all need more of that! Happy Easter everyone.

05.01.2022 Changes to public holiday substitution rules On 4 October 2019, terms allowing an employer to unilaterally substitute a public holiday or substitute a public holiday with agreement from the majority of their staff will be removed from awards that contain them. Instead, employers and individual employees can agree to substitute another day (or part-day) for a public holiday.... Public holiday entitlements will apply to the substituted day for any employees that agree. For any employees that dont agree to the substitution, the original public holiday will attract public holiday entitlements.
