23.01.2022 An incredible story of how kindness can have a ripple effect from generation to generation... Midwife Jeanette visited Tanzania last year as part of our Mercyhands health program, she worked in the local hospital helping in the maternity ward. Rachel (Jeanettes daughter) and best friend Belinda were asked to do a school project, of their own choosing, inspired but a question ... How can we make our school community a kinder place? Together they organised a week of activit...ies aimed at spreading positivity and kindness. To encourage acts of kindness, they wrote encouraging words each day in the newsletter, left notes on lockers, made free kindness cards that people could give out, lolly giveaways and collected food for Cooby Cares, an organisation in Perth that gifts food parcels to vulnerable people. The girls then raised awareness to our health program by creating and displaying a poster of photos and simple costs for medical needs. Hosting a sausage sizzle at lunchtime, they raised approx. $400!! Well done girls!! You are super stars What an incredible achievement! 10.01.2022 The team put down their bicycles to hang out with Water For Africa as they repair a water well in remote village. --------------------------------------------...--------------- In 2018 five mates from Australia landed in Tanzania, Africa where they cycled 1300km through the rugged country and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money and awareness of the clean water crisis for the people of Tanzania.
