23.01.2022 From March 3rd we will begin our 2020 season of Kakadu National Park Day tours. Travel through The Outback with one of our professional guides, share their extensive knowledge of the local areas history and culture. Join us to hear the creation stories behind the ancient artworks set through the rock formations and shelters. ... Take the cruise on our Territory waterways abundant with wildlife and vegetation. Pick up and return to your Darwin accommodation, chilled drinking water, snacks and a freshly prepared lunch is included. Group size is maximum 20 persons per tour, small group allowing interaction between the guide and plenty of opportunities to get to know each other. An early start means we arrive at the park in time for a full day of Territory experiences, departing late afternoon for the drive back to Darwin. Approximately a 12 hour day and just enough time to see the highlights of Kakadu. Day tours are running on alternate days through March, starting with Litchfield on March 1st. Every day except Monday, April through September and back to alternate days again in October. 21.01.2022 Fantastic week of day tours in Litchfield and Kakadu National Park. We had some torrential rains overnight, which brought the winds and cooler temperatures. The water levels quickly dropped again when the rains slowed down and as of today’s Litchfield access report, Buley Rockhole and Florence Falls are open for swimming.... Wangi Falls lookout is accessible and the crocodile cruise on the Adelaide River is still on. In Kakadu our wet season itinerary Nourlangie rock art site and Yellow Waters Billabong cruise are both still accessible. Offroad Dreaming invite you to spend time with Pat, a Northern Territory local wildlife expert, with years of stories to share about the crocodiles on the Adelaide River. We join his custom made boat as he navigates the Waters, seeking out these magnificent creatures and sharing his wildlife and ecological insights.... Our Wetlands and Wildlife tour is available on selected dates throughout the school holidays. We kick off with the glorious Litchfield National Park 12 hour Day Tour which takes you on Guided Bush walks through lush Savannah Woodlands and Monsoonal Forest, visits to magnificent waterfalls for viewing and swimming and the Cruise on the Adelaide River where you get to see our wild crocodiles up close, in their natural habitat led by wildlife expert Pat. We are in the last couple of months of our Wet Season, whe...re the temperatures and humidity are high, creating the perfect swimming temperatures in the rock pools. The woodlands are vibrant green from the tropical rainfall and with the regular sunlight, new life is flourishing and vegetation is growing. 16.01.2022 As of March 16th, next Monday, the Australian Prime Minister has announced the Government will be waiving the Kakadu National Park entry fee to all of its visitors. This means visitors can explore this historic and cultural and geographical, world heritage site for no additional cost. To see the highlights of Kakadu, we visit the ancient rock art sites and take a cruise on one of its waterways, teaming with wildlife and vegetation, on our 12 hour day tour.... Our group size is small, maximum 20 persons and consists of a mixture of families, seniors, students and independent travellers. You can take advantage of this no entry fee until December 2020. Kakadu National Park will still require you to obtain a pass, so they can record analytic visitor information, this will be free of charge. Visitors who have already purchased entry passes will be fully refunded. Our small group of 19 on the bus was entertained and well fed by Norm, our guide. We had the chance of three swims in beautiful clear pools. Plenty of time to change pre swim. Easy walking tracks. Termite mounds were quite spectacular and the croc cruise was brilliant. Our guide for this was a very interesting and passionate character. Recommend for all ages. 11.01.2022 Florence Falls from Sunday 01.03.20 The first day tour of the season for Offroad Dreaming. What a great day.... After the recent Heavy rains the waterfalls through Litchfield are flowing beautifully with the excess water. Some of the swimming holes are still closed due to the high water levels but lookouts are open and the Shady Creek bush walk, which takes us from Florence Falls back to our transport. Rains have reduced again since the weekend and we are on daily watch to work out what swimming holes are accessible. The weather on Sunday was dry and sunny most of the day with rain starting as we joined the boat cruise, late afternoon. The rains brought with it some welcome cooler air. The rains also make the river water a bit cooler. Crocodiles who don’t like the cold are a bit less active in the cooler water. However with Skipper Pat on the case we still managed to see some impressive males and a couple of females swimming in the river. Pat even found a spot where a crocodile had made it out of the high water and onto the bank. Overall a fantastic day for everyone.
