15.01.2022 More doodles of oodles

13.01.2022 This was my first job of drawing an owner and their dog. Sadly the dog died recently but I think the photo I was given to work with was a beautiful reflection of the special relationship between the dog and its owner. #petportrait #pencilart #graphitedrawing #offtheleadart

12.01.2022 I drew these pictures about 8 months ago - same horse, different media. One in graphite, the colour one being a combination of pan pastels and pastel pencils on Pastelmat paper. I have various pieces of work in pastel - if you are interested in a work in pastels. please drop me a line via my website contact page.

11.01.2022 I enjoyed putting this one together. Composed from three separate pictures, I had to estimate the scale of each dog. #petportraitartist #pencilart #mastiff #bluecattledog #offtheleadart #graphitedrawing #trio

10.01.2022 A moodle is a cross between a poodle and a maltese terrier; a labradoodle is a cross between a labrador and a poodle. Here is a hawoodle, which is a cross between a hawaiin shirt and a poodle. My last portrait for 2020.

03.01.2022 Meet Hugo. I haven't drawn too many cats as I figure there are many dog people out there. However, drawing Hugo presented a challenge, because drawing a mostly white cat on white means that you are mostly drawing shadows to define the form. So, I took to pastel - using a combination of pan pastels and pastel pencils on blue-grey Pastelfix paper to show Hugo's proud pose! BTW, my former neighbours had a cat called Hugo, which my son called Mr Smugson; that Hugo turned out to be female (strange neighbours )
