20.01.2022 It’s NAIDOC week! All this week we will be celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and highlighting ...some of the great work being done throughout the community. Late last week, we were lucky enough to be taken on a guided tour by the traditional land owners around Burleigh Headland as guests of the Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre Whilst taking in the amazing beachside rainforest walk, we heard about traditional life, ecological practises and the Dreamtime story associated with the creation of Jellurgal (Burleigh Headlands). Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre runs guided tours every Thursday. Check it out! 09.01.2022 Looking for your first job can be daunting! That’s why the Government’s Transition to Work pre-employment program is so important. It assists young Australians... aged between 15-24 to get their foot in the door and start their journey to employment. Ethan was interested in learning a trade but didn’t know where to begin. His Transition to Work provider put him in contact with a local construction company for some real life work experience. His time onsite lead to an apprenticeship, where he is now well on his way to earning a qualification and skill for life!
