24.01.2022 The camera I borrowed from my husband yesterday has been whisked off to a film shoot today (how rude) so I’m putting down my to-do list and enjoying a quieter day, with plenty of work that I should do, but none that seems especially urgent in a space of tiredness and a really beautiful day that I just want to enjoy. I’m hoping to be back behind the camera tomorrow and bringing you more of our new enamel pins. Until then, enjoy the sun

24.01.2022 A massive restock at Dirty Janes Canberra today. We’ve got a whole lot of new designs on the earring wall, as well as new enamel pin flags, beautiful shears, new scissors, and a huge range of boxed earrings and necklaces.

22.01.2022 Our little wall of enamels has grown again from July when we first started selling these fun little pins. In fact, it has doubled in size! I just can’t stop adding more to this collection, and whether you want something inspiring and encouraging or a bit of dark and cheeky humour, we’ve got you covered. 19.01.2022 Market prep! Something I haven’t done for... well, years We are back not only attending a market but running it - a local market with a social justice background (supporting a food pantry program). These are our introvert themed pins and they are all going safely away ready for #thelittlechurchmarkets on May 1. Join us if you are in Goulburn (or close enough to travel!)

18.01.2022 We did a massive restock at @dirtyjanes_canberra yesterday so our little shop space is full to the brim and has a lot of those lovely designs that sell out so quickly! These are our green mandala earrings (they come in studs and french) and I’ve made sure they are restocked. It’s the perfect weekend to wander in, grab an incredible coffee and enjoy the beginning of Spring.

14.01.2022 Pretty in pink. Our glass studs are all handmade with surgical steel backs, which makes them hypoallergenic and perfect for people like me with super sensitive ears these gorgeous dragonflies are available in our Canberra shop space.

13.01.2022 I finally did the thing I committed to months ago and have been wanting to do for years. I moved my phone charger from beside my bed to the table in the hallway. I didn’t have a lamp until 6 weeks ago, and so I kept using my phone as a torch and justified sleeping with it next to me, which inevitably turned into scrolling until way later than I wanted to. Then I had unplugged my alarm clock so I needed to use the alarm on my phone (not even sure why I didn’t just plug it back in). And finally, I couldn’t find the perfect table to go in the hall and so, again, I just kept putting it off. Last week I moved a table into the hall just to get by and yet I still didn’t move my phone charger into the hall and away from my pillow. Last night I finally, finally actually took the step to move it and guess what? Best sleep I’ve had in ages.

09.01.2022 Another addition to the shop today - the beginnings of our enamel pins wall it will grow from here but I’m so excited to have enough of these lovelies to share with you and to show them off in our space. $15 each x

09.01.2022 Back in the office today after some time off during the holidays. I’ve got a massive backlog of jewellery to make, but before I begin, I need to get the rest of the room as tidy as my desk is now. The beautiful cotton arrangement is from @crookwellcountrybunches and has been relocated into my office now that I’m back in here full time for the foreseeable future!

04.01.2022 This week I have gotten so much done, but I’ve also worked myself into exhaustion. My brain has been so wired that I haven’t been sleeping until about 2am and it just isn’t working. This is one of the weird downsides to working for yourself - if you are someone who pours their heart and soul into passion projects then you often don’t have anyone else to tell you it’s time to go home and have a break (harder still when the distance from your office to lounge room is 3 metres a...nd you keep finding yourself back at your desk ). This is a constant battle with me. Overwork is a massive coping strategy and when I’m struggling I will dive in and bury myself in the never ending to-do list instead of doing the sensible thing and just taking a breath and stopping for a while. I’m working on it. Today I’m starting with a quiet cuppa and a gentler to-do list. One that just notices all the little things I’ve let slip this week and gives me space to listen to an audiobook and potter around the house washing and tidying. I Need a Therapist is the cheeky name for this Freudian pin, and after this year I feel like we can all relate to this one a little bit (even if it’s just for the online shopping addiction ). 03.01.2022 What better way to spend a rainy Canberra Day than wandering the newest market scene to enter Canberra? Grab a coffee and a morning bun from Billy’s and wander the stalls indoors and out of the rain.
