20.01.2022 What a stunning morning in the Valley! The fog was clearing while we harvested. Now the sun is streaming in the window at Arte-zans Cakes, Pastries and Desserts where we've deposited our veg alongside other delicious-looking produce and baked breads, cakes and desserts. Snow peas are back but it's the last week of beans. We also have lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, beetroot, basil and swedes. 19.01.2022 Today we've got lettuces, tomatoes, cucumbers, snow peas, beetroot, swedes, basil, silverbeet and rainbow chard. Those empty spaces in the picture will have been filled with fresh bread and other local produce. Out of shot are Becky's treats, sourdough crumpets, organic apple juice and local preserves. 18.01.2022 We're thinking about our favourite ferments as we watch the wombok get closer. We're just waiting for them to form heads, hopefully sooner rather than later We have a second bed that we planted later but it was discovered by hungry slugs so there are no pictures and less cabbage to share... but more kimchi for us ;-) The last pic is of our lone perfect red cabbage. We thought we'd lost the whole crop so right now a future jar of sauerkraut in our cupboard feels like a win! 16.01.2022 Fully focused! Ebbi loves clearing carrot beds. (Also see mess behind her ) This was a remnant from some rainbow carrots we gave up on that were alongside sugar snap peas. But we got a decent amount of soup - and carrot top pesto The white carrots in the mix didn't look as appealing... so even though Ebbi still loves them we'll skip the rainbow mix and aim for orange and purple carrots for next season's veggie boxes. 04.01.2022 A little late posting but Arte-zans Cakes, Pastries and Desserts is open until 3pm today and 10am-3pm tomorrow so there's still time :-) Today's harvest is: lettuce, beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, basil, silverbeet (two types), rainbow chard and beetroot.
