09.02.2022 Firstly, team OCPAC sends our thoughts to everyone currently living in lockdown, and hope you are all staying safe and sane. Secondly, we want to officially confirm that our original September 2021 performances will not go ahead as originally planned. With the time lost in lockdown here in Melbourne impacting rehearsals, and the announcement of a lockdown extension today, we will be unable to bring the show to the stage right now. That being said the show WILL go on, it is n...ow a matter of when. We will have new dates soon and will share them with you all when we can. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported our show so far, and especially to our cast members who are been so incredibly resilient in this time. We cannot wait to bring this show to the Melbourne stage, but until thenPaciencia y fe

15.01.2022 NO ME DIGA...OCPAC's 2020 show is 'IN THE HEIGHTS'. OCPAC is beyond thrilled to bring In The Heights to the Melbourne stage in September 2020. Be transported into the bustling neighbourhood of Washington Heights and follow the community's stories of hope and determination, as three generations of immigrants toils with identity, love, change and what it means to be "home". With a fresh, exuberant score influenced by rap, hip-hop and salsa, written by Tony award-winning compos...er, Lin Manuel-Miranda (Hamilton, Moana), this Latin-infused musical is an explosion of fun for the whole family. Stay tuned for more information on production team, audition information and ticketing information. Register your email at www.ocpac.com.au to be the first to know. 14.01.2022 PERFORMANCE UPDATE In The Heights Performances Postponed to 2021 The current government restrictions for large crowd gatherings in Melbourne due to Covid-19 has left us no choice but to postpone In The Heights to September 2021. While 2020 continues to throw us curveballs, we as a company are hitting the pavement and are flying at full steam ahead.... We continue to have regular committee meetings, production team meetings, and continue to deep dive into ‘In The Heights’ and how best we can deliver this show when the time is right. We are so excited to bring this show to the Melbourne stage and thank our community for your patience and understanding during this time. We were overwhelmed with the reaction to our announcement in March, and we don’t want to loose the hype and excitement that came as a result. We want to encourage those interested in being involved in the show to register their details on our website and sign up to our mailing list. Stay healthy and safe out there everyone, let’s continue to engage with the arts as we much as we can while we can’t enjoy it live. Not only is there more free online streaming than ever before, platforms like Disney+ has blessed us with Hamilton and the upcoming Aladdin to brighten up our days and bring the Arts back into our lives. Sending love, The OCPAC team

04.01.2022 DOUBLE TROUBLE....WE REPEAT DOUBLE TROUBLE!! Boy, is this a magnificent announcement. There's not only 1...2...but 4 performers to announce with you all. Need we say more, please welcome.... Josh Gavin / Adriana Tascone ... Josh co-founded OCPAC back in 2009 and was involved as a creative or performer in their first eight productions before relocating to work at the Michael Cassel Group. Recent onstage highlights include performing the self-devised cabaret La Vie Broheme with Dom Hennequin and performing as Abraham in PEP’s Altar Boyz. Other stage highlights include meeting his wife Adriana performing in BustCo’s 13: The Musical, performing as Emmett Forrest in Legally Blonde with CLOC and playing a Wickersham Brother in OCPAC’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival season of Seussical: The Musical at The Athenaeum Theatre. Josh currently works for the live performance industry’s Helpmann Awards, which will be presented in Melbourne for the first time in July. Adriana’s first production with OCPAC was in 2015 performing as Rusty in Footloose and joined the company again the following year playing Nurse in Catch Me If You Can. Other performance highlights include performing as Holly in The Wedding Singer with UMMTA, Molly in 13: The Musical with BustCo and Soupy Sue in Urinetown with Players Theatre Company. Adriana has a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Arts at Deakin University and more recently, a Diploma of Musical Theatre from Brent Street in Sydney. Adriana is currently putting her education into practice as a performing arts teacher at Whitefriars College where she is directing the school production of ‘All Shook Up’. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tom & Joey Phyland Brothers Tom and Joey Phyland graduated Carey in 2013 and 2018 respectively. Both were actively involved in music and theatre at Carey however due to age differences, never got the chance to perform in the same show. Tom performed in OCPAC’s Addams’ Family and Catch Me If You Can. Both brothers look forward to the relaunch of OCPAC and are treating this as their audition to be Glinda and Elphaba in OCPAC’s Wicked next year! (DISCLAIMER: what a wicked idea, but OCPAC cannot confirm this claim). June 28, 7:30pm. https://www.boroondara.vic.gov.au/events/ocpacs-back

02.01.2022 FIRST ANNOUNCEMENTS: These two faces are not unfamiliar to the OCPAC family. Gracie and Sammy are absolute legends of the OCPAC Stage and we are blessed to have them performing on the 28th June.so if you haven’t booked tickets yet this is absolutely a reason to click the link and book now!! https://www.facebook.com/events/491915178282853/... Gracie has performed in 3 OCPAC shows over the years, following on from her days attending Carey Grammar as a student. Her most notable being Paula Abagnale in the award winning Catch Me If You Can OCPAC production. At Carey, Gracie found her love for musical theatre and performed in shows like Grease, Thoroughly Modern Millie and her favourite show Chicago where she got to play the lead role of Roxie Hart. She is stoked that through the Old Carey club she can continue to perform with old friends and new friends at one of the highest quality amateur theatre companies in Victoria. The reason I keep coming back to perform with Old Carey is because it’s FUN. Everyone who works with OCPAC does it because they love musical theatre. At the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sammy graduated from Carey Baptist Grammar school in 2011. She was involved in many musical theatre productions during her time at Carey, which to this day, are still some of her fondest memories of her schooling experience. After graduating, Sammy was keen to continue her connection with the school and being involved with OCPAC and the community surrounding it, seemed to be the inevitable choice in continuing that connection. 2013 was the first show Sammy was cast in which was Seussical. After this, OCPAC was asked to perform for the comedy festival and this was one of her most memorable times with the production company. For the next 4 consecutive years she continued to be involved in OCPAC’s theatre productions, these consisting of The Aadams Family, Footloose and Catch Me If You Can. The community and energy that OCPAC entails is why Sammy continues to support and be involved with the company, not to mention the endless memories that she has made. You’ll never see Sammy without a smile and she’ll always have something in store to make you laugh, whether it be her hectic facial expressions of her witty humour. Some past directors will refer to her as a pain in the ass due to her distracting outbursts during rehearsals with current president Andreas....she’ll say it was just her getting into character.

02.01.2022 The OCPAC Committee would like to extend a massive congratulations to former Vice President and one of the founders OCPAC Josh Robson for this tremendous achievement. We cannot wait to see how it all goes!!

02.01.2022 EXCITING NEWS! Join us for a night for carols, comedy and cabaret! Featuring performers from Mamma Mia, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and SBS/ABC! December 7 at the beautiful Kew Courthouse.... See you then! See more
