11.01.2022 Dear Members, Further to our September update, the Committee is pleased to confirm that the Club will be re-opening on Thursday, 5 November, 2020. As previously advised, at this stage we will only be opening on Thursdays and Fridays at 4.30 pm, with table service only in the front two rooms and the balcony no sitting in the Wine Room or at the bar. Pursuant to CURRENT Covid restrictions (as at 28.10.2020), numbers permitted to attend are limited. Due to the room sizes, ...we are able to accommodate up to 10 people in each of the two front rooms on tables of 4 persons, and up to 20 people on the balcony, seated at the tables as set up for social distancing. As a result of the limitation on numbers attending, the Committee has decided that only Members will be able to attend for the time being. This is to ensure that Members wishing to attend will not be turned away due to insufficient space. We will advise Members when they are able to invite non-member visitors. Bookings to attend are recommended to ensure seating availability. Please call the Club after 3.30 on 5331 2461 on the day you wish to attend to make a booking. As previously advised, all Members attending will be required to sign in on our Covid Register on arrival and provide a contact number and set out the date and time of attendance. The Register will be located just outside the door to the Bar and once Members have signed in, they will be able to enter the Bar to order and pay for their drinks and then take a seat in one of the front rooms or balcony. Drinks will be delivered to the tables. It is requested that Members adhere to the Covid signage in the Club regarding the numbers at the tables and the maximum capacity of each area. Please also note that there will be designated entry and exit doors. Due to the Covid requirements, we will be unable to offer the usual finger food but we will have the usual chips and twisties available (at their usual cost) and will also provide, free of charge, individually packaged cheese and biscuits. The Committee has decided, due to the limitation on numbers, that we will run a raffle on each of the opening days (rather than the usual numbers sheets), with the draw being done at approximately 7 pm. Raffle tickets will cost $1.00 each and the prizes are the usual bottle of wine, 6 pack of beer or chocolates. The proceeds of the raffles will go towards paying for the cost of the cheese and biscuits being provided. The Committee is looking forward to catching up with all of our regional Members. 07.01.2022 We are grateful to Vince and Glynis Braybrook for their financial support towards the Braybrook Cottage. The cottage was officially named last Sunday.

06.01.2022 The Committee of the Club and the Council of the Association trust that all of our members are keeping well during this difficult time of the Covid-19 Pandemic. While the social distancing and isolation requirements we are required to follow at this time are affecting one of our favourite pastimes - socialising at the Club - it appears that the Governments restrictions are working and hopefully we will see further relaxation of some of the requirements which will enable ...the re-opening of the Club. In the meantime, it is proposed that we send periodic newsletters (by email or post to those without email) to keep in touch with everyone. Keep an eye out for our first Newsletter in the near future. We would ask, however, that if anyone has any interesting articles or funny stories (suitable for publication) that they be submitted to the Club via email (to [email protected]) so that we can incorporate them in the Newsletters. Please advise if your contribution is to be anonymous. For example, a Committee Member (who shall remain nameless) recently found the following amongst papers from a number of years ago. The statement is still true today: Lord, give me COFFEE/TEA to change the things I can change AND WINE/BEER to accept the things I cant. We look forward to hearing from members with items for our Newsletters. With regard to future communications, if you know of any members who have recently changed address, please encourage them to let us know (by email or a note in the post) details of their new address. Also, if you know of a member who has an email address but has not been receiving emails from the Club, please let us know the relevant email address so that we can update the Clubs records. Please keep well and as soon as we are advised under what circumstances we are allowed to re-open, we will be in touch again Kind regards to you all from The Committee

05.01.2022 The lights are up on the balcony, the gin bar is ready, the room is set. Now all we need to do is to wait until tomorrow night and drink gin! See you there.

02.01.2022 Thank you to Bendigo Bank for the donation towards a defibrilator!

01.01.2022 Congratulations to Merle Hathaway who has been recognised as a distinguished alumni of Federation University. There is so much talent within our membership!
