18.01.2022 Hello friends and fans of Old Pines, it's hard to fathom that after a year and a half of complete silence, our Facebook, YouTube and SoundCloud are still regularly gaining new fans. As you would have realised by now, Old Pines hasn't created or performed any music since early 2014 - the main reason being that I moved to Melbourne. The decision was sudden and unanticipated but - as I can now confidently say - it was a good decision. I never officially 'called it quits' on Old ...Pines, and I still don't intend to; I'm proud of the music we've made so far and the countless performances we gave our all to, and to put a defined end to that just wouldn't feel right. I'm writing this now, as Sam came down to Melbourne and visited me last night. We sat on a rooftop bar overlooking the city and talked about the rest of the band back in Brisbane, what everyone was up to and it all got a little nostalgic. From what I've heard, Sam, Josh, Malachi, and Matt are all working on different musical projects - some of them together, others separate - and I'm extremely excited to share them with you once they're ready. I'm confident this won't be the last time you hear from Old Pines but for now I'll leave you with some music that I've been working on down here in Melbourne.
