25.01.2022 Olive Oil Provenance in the Wagga Wagga region of Australia Since the plantation was established in 1998, Wollundry Grove has developed as one of the most significant olive groves in the Wagga Wagga Region. The 2000 olive trees were planted on a traditional grove layout, with access to supplementary water from the rural supply pipeline. Current owners, Bruce Spinks and Joo-Yee Lieu, took over the business in 2010 after many years in the grain and seed industry. https://wollun...drygroveolives.com.au/order-online #extravirginoliveoil
24.01.2022 Extra virgin olive oil is a clear winner over coconut oil, hands down! (Coconut oil has few proven health benefits, very few antioxidants, and practically no vi...tamins or minerals. So it's nice to use for flavour and isn't as bad as we used to think it was but it's certainly not as healthy as the media/celebrities/bloggers/companies would have you believe). Extra virgin olive oil, the highest grade of olive oil, is one of the healthiest oil choices with a high level of monounsaturated fats, natural antioxidants, phytosterols and vitamins. Australian extra virgin olive oil is the best choice as the quicker the oil is extracted from the olive after being removed from the tree, the fresher the oil, the higher its quality and the healthier it is. To make sure it stays fresh, keep the oil away from heat and light and do not leave it out next to the cooktop. And use it within 12 months. Myth buster - You can cook with extra virgin olive oil to a high temperature if it is of high quality. A quality extra virgin olive oil will be low in free fatty acids (FFA) and the lower the FFA content the higher the smoke point. A high quality extra virgin olive oil will have a smoke point of around 180 degrees. So you can happily use it to fry with in any pot or pan! It's my favourite type of oil and I enjoy it everyday :)
