24.01.2022 The Science Teachers Association of NSW is conducting a Paper Plane Competition. In order to choose which entries could be sent in we conducted our own school competition today. Antranek in Kindergarten, Quinton in Year 2 and Mika in Year 4 were able to better the qualifying distance or the time taken to keep the plane in the air. Check out the videos showing them making their planes and then throwing them. Well done boys!

24.01.2022 In today’s Religion lesson K Blue discussed how God gave us our family. Students then drew a picture of their own family. Great work K Blue!



23.01.2022 Year 4 have been reading "Deltora Quest". They have continued their coding journey this term by using block code (Blockly) to program Dash and have it travel alongside Lief and Barda on the path they recreated around Deltora.

22.01.2022 The students in 1 Green have been investigating how to change pitch as part of their Science unit. They made two kazoos from straws, with differing lengths. Students then hypothesised which length would make a high pitch sound and which one would make a low pitch sound. They went outdoors to test their theories.

20.01.2022 Congratulations to the students in Kindergarten, Year One, Year Two and Year Six who came first in the Mathematics Association of NSW's Investigating with Mathematics competition. As part of our Gifted Education program Our Lady of the Rosary entered seven teams in the competition and we are very proud of all the students who took part in the investigations. Kindergarten, Year One, Year Two and Year Six projects have now been sent to Perth for the national judging which will ...take place on 17 September. The students investigated real life problems and used a range of mathematical skills to engage in their projects. Well done to all the students and their teachers - what a great achievement! 19.01.2022 3 Gold have been learning about multiplication using arrays. Great work 3 Gold!

17.01.2022 Year 5 and 6 students at OLR participated in a tremendous end of Semester 1 Drama performance. To prepare for the performance, students wrote their own scripts, practised acting skills, and used props and costumes to portray their characters. The students put on professional performances and had fun performing with each other.

17.01.2022 September is Fruit and Veg month. This morning students were offered fruit as they arrived at school. We hope this encourages them to eat at least one piece of fruit each day.

17.01.2022 4 Gold have been learning about the First Fleet in History. They have created convict identification cards to match the diary entries they have written during English, which are from the perspectives of convicts in 1788.

15.01.2022 Students have enjoyed the reopening of the Library during lunch playtime and participated in many activities including robotics, Lego, chess, painting, drawing, puzzles and other challenges. The giant block tower is always a favourite.

14.01.2022 The students at OLR love their Drama lessons. Taking part in Drama allows the students to build their confidence and self-esteem, use their imagination and most of all have fun. During our remote learning many of our students created and performed in their own videos. The students love the opportunity to dress up and perform on our school stage.

07.01.2022 Our Pope Francis Award students and teachers have spent many hours creating this beautiful Aboriginal garden. The Reflection Poles display the hand prints of the students to mark our acknowledgement of the traditional owners of the land. The hand print of Sister Catherine, a Sister of St Joseph, is placed on the shield in memory of and gratitude to the traditional carers of the land and Mary MacKillop and the Sisters of St Joseph who established our school.

05.01.2022 4 Blue students have been investigating length. They are using metre rulers to find out the length of the basketball court

04.01.2022 Kindergarten have been reading "Queen Alice's Palaces" and studying 3D design. They looked at how we can combine 3D shapes to create a palace, a horse and a unicorn. They learnt about how the 3D printer works and got up close to watch a collaborative design being printed.

01.01.2022 How Exciting! Today Leon Shi in 6 Blue received a letter from our Prime Minister, Scott Morrison. 6 Blue have been researching Prime Ministers as part of their History unit. Leon researched Scott Morrison and then presented his information to the class. His teacher Mrs Holt, was so impressed with both his research and presentation that she sent a copy of his speech to Mr Morrison who was equally impressed. We are very proud of you Leon. Well done!

01.01.2022 Year 4 STEM Day- Our Year 4 students took part in Engineering, Science and Technology workshops that were organized and facilitated by the teachers and students from Patrician Brothers and Mary MacKillop Colleges. Our students saw first hand what it is like to be a High School student for the day. Comments from students included "It was the best day ever" and "I learnt so much from the High School students" Thank you Patrician Brothers and Mary MacKillop for giving our Year 4 students such a fantastic experience
