13.01.2022 Latest News .... as of approximately 3pm, 25th January 2012. Update.... Fire activity low. The Omeo Recreation Reserve Relief Centre is now closed and will remain so until further notice.

11.01.2022 A meeting is to be held today 7th February at 11am at the Omeo CFA shed. All welcome.

11.01.2022 PREPARATION Determine your trigger points to leave. if you can see smoke and flame, it is too late. It is suggested that if there is a fire in the region and you wake in the morning and it is warm with a northerly wind that is the time to leave. Check your water pumps and hoses daily.... Limited support is available so please discuss any questions and plans with Omeo CFA ahead of any threats. It will assist the CFA for water collection sites that are available and accessible to be identified with a large WP on a sign or bitumen road, with coloured tape to identify the water collection point. Water tanks not in use can have fittings provided for tanks to link to.

Visit the fire station CFA 110 Bilton street PLACE OF LAST RESORT In the event of a fire threat to the area, the safe area for the community to gather is the recreation reserve: On the corner of Day Ave and Park Street. LOCAL SOUNDING FIRE ALERTS An alarm that rings from the fire station for 5 minutes continuously is the alert that there is an immediate threat to the area. A short 3 minute alarm from the fire station is calling volunteers to gather only.
