18.01.2022 Ramesses popping in to the clinic to have his regular adjustment. His owner recently adopted him and though he had a nice life with his previous family, it was perhaps a little indulgent with not enough exercise. Luckily his current owners understand the value of a healthy balanced diet and lots of exercise, not just for themselves but for their dog too. . . . Weight problems in dogs are, unfortunately, all too common. It puts extra load on limb joints and spinal structures, ...not to mention the other health issues that it can create. If you think your dog might be carrying too much weight discuss with your vet how you might be able to manage this. . . . 08.01.2022 First visits to the chiropractor can be a little bit nerve wracking. I’m fairly sure this lovely lady thought I was a crazy person giving her weird hugs. . . . I’m a firm believer of building trust in my patients, whether they’re human, horse, or otherwise. This foundation of trust allows us to achieve more during sessions, keeps everyone happy and relaxed, and most importantly increases safety for me, the patient, and the handler. This can be a very effective procedure used when a dog injures their cranial crucial ligament (CCL), which is basically the equivalent to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in a human knee. ... . . . I was lucky enough to observe one of these surgeries at @westcoastvets performed by Dr Stefan, who also just so happened to be Delta’s surgeon. . . . Following any surgical procedure it is super important that the most up to date, evidence based rehab is performed, and manual therapy is applied to assist tissues to heal to the best of their ability. Luckily for Miss Delta her owners are super diligent and do their best to follow all of my and their vets recommendations.
