24.01.2022 According to Healthdirect, 4 in 10 Australian adults don't get enough sleep and feel tired as a result. Many of us also think that we're getting enough sleep but don't realise that we're not getting quality sleep which means that we still feel tired. So what is quality sleep? According to the Sleep Foundation, the key determinants of quality sleep are:... - Sleeping more time while in bed (at least 85 percent of the total time) - Falling asleep in 30 minutes or less - Waking up no more than once per night; and - Being awake for 20 minutes or less after initially falling asleep. Some ways of making sure that you get a good night of quality sleep include optimising your bedroom, not eating late at night and reassessing your alcohol intake. You can see more ways to get better sleep here: https://www.healthline.com/nutriti/17-tips-to-sleep-better If sleep is an issue for you, talk to one our GPs, they can help. #qualitysleep #selfcare #yourfamilydoctor

Many workplaces are offering new socialising opportunities for employees working from home to ensure that everyone feels connected and part of the team. If your workplace doesn't offer socialisation opportunities, suggest starting a virtual Friday drinks or the implementation of a messaging app such as Slack or Teams to keep in touch with your colleagues. This will ensure better opportunities ...to make sure everyone feels connected and part of the team which in turn increases moral and efficiency.
