25.01.2022 Oh my goodness...... temp me much? https://www.facebook.com/ZePickleBrisbane/videos/1907610132657858/

24.01.2022 Off the Wall Diner offering it's Mega Death Burger touted as the World's Hottest Burger.

24.01.2022 Milky Lane has kicked and kicked hard. Two months in and they're going strong at Gasworks Newstead! A dash and grab visit saw nothing missing off the style we've come to love for the amazing purveyor to redonkulous stacked burgers. Though burgers are only half the story when it comes to Milky Lane. Drop yourself into a moment off pure Megashake and Deep fried Cara-cheesecake Bliss.... If you have an itch for something different, this is the place to have it scratched! So worth the visit! Heading back soon!

23.01.2022 Montezuma's Taringa completely dropped the ball on service this week. I literally walked out in disgust after the waitress outright refused to let us sit at the table we chose. The table was then given it to the next random group that arrived. Such a pointless waste of losing customers in what looked to be trying to save the table for a group of four. Get your head in the game Montezumas! People expect and deserve better than you're delivering!

22.01.2022 Well thats me for lunch

21.01.2022 Dagwood Dog relief for the Masses! Be quick everyone if you're missing a genuine Ekka Dagwood Dog. For a very short time the purveyors of those Glorious Golden Puppies have set up camp roadside at Ye Olde Doolandella.... As I wipe the lashings of tomato sauce from the sides of my mouth, the wonderful people frying up these beauties tell me they're onsite at least until Monday, 8 June 2020 but if all the planets line up, they may be there right through June. Not just Daggies on offer but showtime fairy floss and waffles filled with lashings of fresh cream that'll send your taste buds to the moon and your coronary specialist into tears. Big quick people for sure as the sun does rise, you'll miss your chance and they'll be back on the show ground circuit. Head down to 1104 Blunder Road, Doolandella...... 7am-7pm Enjoy!!

19.01.2022 Looking for food that makes you go WOW! Ceres Pizza at Strathpine has gone super size with a 20inch pizza on offer. Sound like a good reason to set a new bucket list destination! I reckon there's scope there for a food challenge there.... just sayin'!... https://www.facebook.com/CeresPizzaCafe/

18.01.2022 When normal just doesn't cut it..... get ya Pickle on!

17.01.2022 One Bloke's is deeply against the Cancel Culture. We as consumers have the right to choose where and with whom we spend other money. We're very concerned at attacks on hard working Aussie small businesses like Colonial Brewing Co in the name of political correctness and supposed support of fringe groups. Join us in supporting the petty attacks on Colonial Brewing Co by buying some of their wonderful craft beers today.... Available at Dan Murphy's and other outlets. https://www.facebook.com/ColonialBrewingCo

16.01.2022 Now I usually don't back up with some more burger enormousness the day after a food challenge, but flicking through the offerings at Ze Pickle Camp Hill saw the temptation too great. I came across a modified "BUFFALO BLUE". This already awesome creation had been worked magnificently adding in further double fried chicken, double jack cheese, double maple smoked bacon, jalapeno & 5 cheese fried macaroni patty, pecan smoked brisket and guacamole. The result was amazing! Ze Pickle is an absolute must do for those of the perverse burger following!

16.01.2022 Lookin' this good..... I don't care if it doesn't call the next day!!

15.01.2022 Well, Outta Town Diner certainly threw down the gauntlet with their food challenge.... "The Elvis Challenge" A big big burger, massive serve of fries and a bucket of ice cream they claim is a thick shake! This burger looks like something that needed council approval to construct and I did hold fears that it breached airspace height restrictions. All the same, you've got to work the problem people and what a problem to solve. Take in all this food and thick shake in under 15 m...inutes to beat the challenge. Should you beat the time, your next meal is on the house, you get a customised Outta Town Diner T-Shirt and you'll be immortalised on the Elvis Challenge Wall of Fame, not to mention bragging rights. Even better, if you beat the best time for the challenge, you get the lot for free......what a bargain! Now getting back to this tower of food they casually refer to as a 'burger'..... you're looking at Triple Beef, Double Bacon, Quadruple Cheese, Fried Chicken, Sunny Side Egg, Gooey Mozza Sticks, Crispy Onion Rings, Ketchup, BBQ Sauce, Mustard, Liquid Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce and Pickles. Then there's the fries, which seem to come with a side of fries, then some more fries.... there's just heaps of them! Finally, a thick shake bordering on pourable concrete viscosity served up in a child's wading pool. Well, people, the challenge comes at you hard and you must brace yourself. Watching those 15 minutes tick away can be hard as you negotiate with your stomach to keep playing the game. Happy to say this challenge got knocked over in a little under challenge time and another one squared away for One Blokes Opinion. Don't miss the spot in the video where the egg (I hate hate hate eggs) almost takes me out mid-challenge, much to the amusement of the camera crew. :) If you're keen to challenge yourself to this one, head into Outta Town Diner soon and try your luck! Don't forget to check out the video. :)

14.01.2022 Wholely Cheesaholic Batman!!!

10.01.2022 BL Burgers Parramatta found me on their doorstep last night looking for something awesome! After a skim through the menu, I went with their special of the week, the 'Barry'. Menu says BL Beef Pattie, Swiss Cheese, Smoked Brisket, Pastrami, Pickles, Lettuce, Spanish Onion along with Truffle & Horseradish Aioli. I customed up and added a second BL Beef Pattie. For all the promise this burger had, it left me wanting. Taste was ok, but no Wow factor. The box it arrived in saw it no bigger than a Big Mac. The brisket was dry, disappointing and lampooned the already failing aspects of the burger. The venue strikes you as somewhere great food should hail from. Sadly not this time. I wouldn't go as far as dodging this venue, but they need to do a lot better than this!

10.01.2022 When the world looks bleak and cold.... count on Burgers!

09.01.2022 Outta Town Diner's enormous Elvis Challenge

08.01.2022 Omg, omg..... OH MY GOD!!!! Brisbane Burger Fest 2018 is just weeks away. It's a MUST do for serious burger lovers!

08.01.2022 Shady Palms at Stones Corner has some surprise in store for the foodies. This bar's more of a great hang with beer and friends, but still some good food on offer. The food is anything but run of the mill. I customed up with an extra Wagyu beef pattie on top of a burger already called 'Pleased to Meat You!' Brisket, Double Wagyu, Pull Pork and some other good stuff came together nicely, as we scoffed at the cold under blazing heaters. If you're loving to down your burger somewhere unique, spend an hour or so letting Shady's ambience touch your soul.

05.01.2022 Ze Pickle Camp Hill can not put a foot wrong! When your mind wanders all day to the smell of that amazing kitchen, you know they're hitting the mark. Brisket, Pastrami, Mozza sticks, Crumbed Baby Bels, Maple Smoked Bacon, Swiss cheese, Jack Cheese and buckets of guac..... where have you been all of my life?

04.01.2022 Hellcat Maggie sneaks into Brisbane's CBD and remains one of our newest well-kept secrets. Tucked away in Rich Lane (I didn't know there was a Rich Lane) just off Adelaide St, they're quickly making their mark. Awesome American Bar with heaps of breaking the mould style. Is it a coffee shop, is it a bar, is it an intimate rendezvous? Plenty of each to go round. Stop in and catch Maggie, she's a hell of a girl!

02.01.2022 Funky Mexican Cantina were without a doubt a surprise. After the downfall of my beloved Dos Amigos at Taringa, the search for great Mexican in Brisbane has been nothing short of disappointing. I'm yet to really put Funky through its paces, but initial impressions were very impressive. Service, price, quality venue and food ticked all the boxes. I went light on the menu choices this time around, after the bucket of Corona (4 in a bucket for $25) came with a huge serve of Haben...ero Chicken Wings.... I mean huge! If you like Corona and spicy wings, it's worth going here just for these. Next was the Beef Nachos and it was anything but ordinary. These guys are really trying to step up the edge on their offerings but definitely avoiding pretentious. Marked this one as a 'Go back soon'. Keen to give the rest of the menu a try.

01.01.2022 How great to be steppin out post COVID19! Fav haunt Ze Pickle Camp Hill is keeping early week tolerable with awesome Bar Snacks and newly added "Black Hops Ze Pickle Ginger Beer" Beware, she bites! (but in the good way!) Maybe just one more?

01.01.2022 Ze Pickle Camp Hill just keeps impressing. Stopped in last night and went with the 'Cheesy Mate'. Knowing these guys love to custom up I naturally said... What ever's on it, double it! The result did not disappoint! Layers and layers of Brisket, Beef Patty, Pastrami, Swiss Cheese, Jack Cheese, Mustard, Mayo, MacNCheese and the list goes on. Every bite was an endorphin rush! So much cheese, so much meat, so much flavour! You'll need to brace yourself for this one!
