18.01.2022 Looks like we Victorians are all going to be wearing face masks soon so I thought I would do a quick video for those of you that can do basic sewing. This tutorial is for a basic pleated mask, which I prefer over the shaped ones. I use t-shirt material for the ear ties instead of elastic which can be hard to get at the moment. Edit: Since recording I’ve learnt it’s better to have 3 layers of fabric, so just add another 20cm x 15cm piece of lining fabric before you start sewing.

14.01.2022 So this might have happened last night. Yes, flitting over to the land of patchwork. I’ll blame @__heidijane__ (daughter) for dragging her patchwork out of hibernation. It’s a long while time since I’ve made a useable sized quilt so she has inspired me to throw some fabric scraps together for this cross pattern which I’ve long wanted to make. I’m trying not to overthink it, too much, a challenge for a recovering perfectionist. 13.01.2022 I made this butterfly themed notebook for a special friend’s birthday. Made using up some scrap copy paper, book pages and other bits and pieces. It has 20 pages and 6 pockets with assorted ephemera; tags, notelets, stickers and a bookmark. 11.01.2022 The results of another excellent live tutorial from @annietaylorczt I changed the centre and added a little extra to the corners instead of adding fescue. Even though the zentangle philosophy is, there are one mistakes, the second photo, which was my first attempt, does have an oopsy, that I didn’t notice until I was shading. I still like it but I like the design so much I had to do a redo, which gave me the opportunity to try another design in the centre. #zentangle #penandpaper #ArtyZen #yodibujozentangle

09.01.2022 Something I have been having fun with, are these little joyful pretty flowers, made with nothing more than scissors, scrap paper and ordinary felt tip pens. I have made up a step by step instruction sheet just in case you would like to have a go at making them too. While I make them just for the fun of it, I have been playing around with some ideas for using them for craft projects.

05.01.2022 The kitchen cupboard is often thought of a cheap resource for kids craft but why not adult craft as well. After all we all still have a child inside somewhere. Inspired by a couple YouTube videos, thanks @theartsygrandma01 & @woollysteph I thought let’s see what I can do with this idea. TA DAH!! Everything but the glue is from the kitchen, paper plate, napkin, grains and seeds, and there is so many other things I could have used. 02.01.2022 Stretching the creative muscles today. Paper, drawing and mixed media aren’t in my comfort zone but I would like to get better at it and that requires practise, so I followed along with @woollysteph on YouTube with her latest Pick 10 Art Journal Prompts. It was fun and I’m pleased enough with the result. I haven’t stuck the buttons on as I think I prefer it without them. The prompts were; Use stencil Add buttons Add butterflies...
