18.01.2022 The VAHS Healthy Lifestyle Team has found another fun run for us to take part in. Lets keep the momentum! This time we will be participating in the Bupa Take Steps for Good Health Festival fun run on December the 1st. The race details are as follows:... Start time for all the events will be 9am at Melbournes most iconic running track, The Tan. Distances to choose from the 4km run/walk or the 8km run /walk. Cost $25 per person and will be raising money for diabetes Victoria. Please note: VAHS will not be covering the cost of entry for this run. 16.01.2022 Healing from ice use in Victorian Aboriginal communities: In this short film Victorian Aboriginal people talk about how they have managed to stop or reduce ice use. The film includes interviews with a worker and ex-ice user, and provides contact details for alcohol and drug services across Victoria. It was shot in Mildura and Melbourne by Caden Pearson (Irongate Films). The Australian College of Optometry is offering:... 14 students from Melbourne metro area and/or regional Victoria to visit the University of Melbourne (Parkville) and Australian College of Optometry (Carlton) or other eye care clinics in community health services or Aboriginal Health Services for half a day (travel expenses provided) 6 students from Melbourne metro area and/or regional Victoria to participate in a four day work experience placement at the University of Melbourne (Parkville) and Australian College of Optometry (Carlton) or other eye care clinics in community health services or Aboriginal Health Services (travel expenses and $250 payment on successful completion of four days of placement available). Some accommodation assistance for regional students and their guardians is available. Days flexible and negotiable, next placements available early December 2013.
